Thanks for sharing, @JasonRAAbsolutely, he makes a passionate case—what a gem of a man! 👏👏 However, I genuinely don’t understand why he felt he might be asked to step down as Chair of Scope. I thought this was exactly what Scope stands for 🤔

Nothing is for certain yet. So we will see what they do with the green paper. I'm just worried the government are not fully understanding disability needs and how it will affect people. Anyone who says wiping out 6bn from the local economy is a positive thing is lying or stupid. I don't think they have any clue what they doing at all.

Same with me, I saw the covid lockdown and restrictions in dreams , I had the dreams in 2012 . I also write them down . When they come true it can freak me out , but then I think how I must be chosen to have such dreams .

There was an interesting article in the Times (a paper I generally wouldn't read because of previous attitudes to autism) about the untapped resource of ND people, from the perspective of why we are being kept down/prevented from working. More of that media and less of the other would be appreciated.
I was thinking about the plan to put the PIP points thing through primary legislation and make it law so it can't be challenged from an equality perspective. But surely even if they did do that, that wouldn't enshrine the particular criteria in law, nor the way in which the points were assigned. There would still, surely, be opportunities to challenge the legality of the criteria, given that putting such limits/requirements would mean discriminating against some disabled people whose conditions are not properly covered in the criteria.
I'm frustrated with the "everyone knows someone who is playing the system" squad, though. Their arguments are copypaste but they don't really make sense.
If they genuinely knew someone that was cheating, and were that outraged about it that they need to rant on social media, you'd think they'd have reported them to the DWP. The fact that official fraud figures are so low means that if they DID report these people, their accusations were proven to be unfounded. If there were that many people playing the system, then the fraud % would be higher. All it shows is the shocking level of disability awareness in the UK, which is the real thing that needs fixing.
The chair throwing is a symptom of the hate being fostered in the press.6 -

I got two scores of 8 points for washing and bathing and preparing a meal.
I bet the DWP won't agree with that.

I had a dream about Kendall too once, she came to my house as an assessor to give me a WCA. She told me to just get over my mental health issues, I wanted to explain more but needed the bog, after I used the bog and came back she had just left without a trace.

Also, someone said this in the previous thread, but I want to reiterate: I really do think this is going to be Labour’s poll tax. How can they possibly come back from this?

Yep 😕 and I don’t even know who would be better at the next GE! I’d love to see Starmer kicked out in a vote of no confidence and someone with the beliefs of people like Diane Abbott or John McConnell leading. (Which ironically we could have had back in 2019!)
Im in Scotland and we have our elections next year. I think this could be the killer for Scottish Labour. The leader of SLab at Holyrood has already come out in support of the cuts, surprise surprise

I'm trying to remain calm but its so hard right now.
I'm dreading what Reeves has in store for us in the spring budget in Wednesday.
It doesn't even bare thinking about.

Not a Budget - a Statement that will put some exact numbers ( in other words dodgy statistics ) onto what was announced by Liz Kendal last week. More of the same nonsense.

I asked the disability adviser at the Jobcentre, back in 2010, when I first claimed ESA; could they help me find new employment.
Her answer? "But you are getting ESA, you don't have to seek work". She then said that the Jobcentre was just a signing on point for the dole monkeys, and there was no time to do other stuff with the likes of me.
A first class service! I bet it's as bad or even worse now, what with them struggling to retain so-called work coaches.

Hope @apple85 is ok he was good with resistance posts. Reeve is started to be targeted by more people in the media, people are now pushing for the fiscal rules to be changed including economists, but the problem is Reeves has some strong anti social security ideology and has become obsessed with this fiscal rule she has set, she was calling for what she is doing now 12 years ago, and same with Kendall. A lot of disabled people elsewhere think this will get watered down without any fight, or that it isnt that bad. I think if this does get reversed somehow, Reeve will quit.
