The SNP's Westminster leader, Stephen Flynn, asked Starmer what reassurances he could give to disabled people who might be affected by welfare reforms. In response, the PM said there was a need to help those who can work get into work
So NO - Starmer is unable to reassure disabled people…………….
but still no mention of changes to PIP !

Working households. Who, in their right minds (working people) would think it's OK to gain what is not even 40.00 a month at the cost of the sick and disabled. 190,000 excess deaths in the 2010s under Cameron et al. Just no words really.

They are planning the 50% cut for new claimants/recipients only from the second half of next year. For existing claimants, your payments are not cut & only frozen until 2029/2030 when new measures (to be confirmed) will take place.

If I'm on esa and they transfer me over to UC does that make me a new claimants even though I been on esa a while please?

Reeves has no comfort of words for the very vulnerable people she's attacking. To double down on cuts to the health element of UC is beyond belief. And still insisting this is happening because of Ukraine and Trump. A Labour government wanting to spend more on bombs than on people.

Reeves didn't mentioned PIP changes - it looks as if she's putting that off until Junes budget !

She made it quite clear they are for the working people. Doesn't care about those who cant work. I can see a push back coming on. All those who voted who still can see a bigger picture from here with any of these party's please enlighten me. Not one represents me.

No it does not. Your money will not change after the switch. I know this because I'm in the same situation and phoned the DWP with a number of questions. Do not worry. The cuts will not take effect immediately. Though you may be asked to attend a face to face reassessment. That is what I have been led to believe.

You have until September next year (at least) before the changes even take affect for new claimants. I think there is planned transitional support for ESA claimants that will offer some protection, but what this support amounts to is probably under review like many other aspects of the green paper.

And let me clarify. The reassessment will be at some point before 2027. So you do have breathing space.

You are correct you will lose £203…..provided you keep PIP….if you also lose PIP then you lose all of what is LCWRA equivalent AND you lose your daily living amount of £300 - £400 if standard and more if you currently have enhanced. So overall lose over £700 per month if you lose PIP as well. I hope I have explained it more clearly for you.

By cutting the health element of UC , and that we will be worse off, so we have no choice to try to work, making us more ill, so making us worse off financially and health worsen
