The changes on PIP will see me go from enhanced ADL to nothing (all 3s & 2s).Enhanced Mobility will remain the same.
I’m also on Contributory ESA haven’t seen that mentioned?
My wife will also lose her PIP. Enhanced but no 4s.
In total = £840.40 worse offIf Cont ESA taken that’s another £304 (support group)
Considering that DLA was set up to help with health and social care costs when Thatcher set about dismantling NHS & Local Authorities were a “costly mess“ to Central Government.
It’s IRONIC that the Labour government will axe the money that removes a vital support mechanism to our community. What my PIP goes on:
Adhoc physio
Payment for profiling bed
Therapist
I have been waiting 14 months for neurology block procedure. May have to look at self funding as the pain is too much and virtually bed ridden.
Payment for loan for wet room installation.
Sorry if you look at this and see me being well off. I was medically retired 2years ago the proceeds of my lump sum went towards making my home into an accessible for me.
I post this in solidarity with my fellows in the Disabled and Long term health community.

Exactly how I feel. I am 62 in a few months and was hoping that as I approached State Pension age,I would not have to worry about being forced to look for work. Just the thought of having to search for employment makes me feel exhausted. I have 2 autoimmune health issues plus osteoarthritis and I find so many days a struggle. I am sick to the back teeth of Rachel bloody Reeves saying parrot fashion 'Disabled people WANT to work, given the chance'. Yes,if they feel well enough! Which I most certainly do not. I'd be interested to find out how many long-term sick /disabled people actually DO feel well enough to work. Believe me,I admire anyone with a disability or serious health issue who does work, but I do wish this government would stop assuming that everyone is capable. It's not a one size fits all matter.

Classic narcissistic trait, thinking she knows what's best for us better than what we do, as if she has to do our thinking for us.
3 -
Could we sue them for the stress and emotional turmoil they are inflicting on us? A class action suit? Something like that?
Also, Starmer is an unfunny joke.
His only objective is, imo, gaining The Nobel Peace Prize via his determination to be head of this so-called Coalition of the Willing. This would allow him, like Blair before him, access to untold wealth on the talk/lecture circuit telling the world of his own magnificence and vision.
The vacuum his ambition leaves behind him allows the likes of Reeves and Kendall to run the show - both Tories in all but name.
4 -
She's definitely a narcissist, that's obvious.
Unfortunately for her, Trump is an even more narcissistic (and malignant) character.
He will play her (via Starmer) like a puppet.
Trump will do so no matter how much humiliating, public butt-kissing in which Starmer indulges.

This will depend a lot on what your local authority does/how they process badges.
In our local authority area, we have two forms, a short and a long form - the former being for the automatic PIP or DLA criteria, and the second being medical discretionary. It is a much longer form, which requires a lot more detail, but it is possible to get a badge issued with that and medical evidence (eg statements from doctors, prescriptions, anything that supports your medical need for the badge) in the absence of the PIP. This is in line with government guidance on Blue Badges, whereby medical need can be proven in the absence of qualifying benefits or in the case where the points are not enough/the wrong kind of mobility at the wrong level (for example people with 12 points for planning a journey are not automatically eligible per the govt's rules and so in most areas would have to provide additional evidence.)Renewing it with PIP pending would be discretionary anyway, so it may be worth asking whoever processes/issues badges in your area what their eligibility criteria are.

I'm on ESA(CB) support group and it is not means tested.
0 -
CB-ESA isn't means-tested. I was moved from IR-ESA to CB-ESA when an inheritance took my saving over the £16000 limit.
3 -
Mine isn't. I have actually checked with them in the past. Also Benefits and Work site states it too. I'm on the old ESA (CB) not 'New Style'.Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is a benefit that can be paid if you are sick or disabled and incapable of work.
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is a benefit that can be paid if you are sick or disabled and incapable of work.
There are two types:
- What if I have savings or other income, will that matter? – this is based on your own personal National Insurance contribution history. For older claims, this is known as contribution-based employment and support allowance but for more recent claims, it is known as New Style ESA.
- It does not matter what other income or savings you have, other than any occupational or personal pension. This may reduce how much contributory ESA you receive, although you will be allowed to "keep" some of your pension before your ESA starts to be deducted.
Income-related – this is means-tested and based on your circumstances, and those of your partner if you have one. You can no longer make new claims for this type of ESA. How long does contributory employment and support allowance last?
Contributory ESA can be paid for up to 365 days as long as you are accepted as being incapable of work and are placed in the work-related activity group after the assessment period, which should be the first 13 weeks of your claim. Time spent in the support group does not count towards the 365 day time limit and therefore if you are in the support group, you will be able to receive contributory ESA for longer.

Cheers @YogiBear
Thus:
“””””Contributory ESAYou cannot make a new claim for contributory ESA but existing claims can continue. This section is only for people already claiming contributory ESA.Contributory ESA is the name for ESA claimed before Universal Credit was introduced in your area.
Contributory ESA is not means-tested. This means whether you can get it and how much you get, is not affected by your income, savings, or investments (but it may be affected by certain pension payments). If you're already getting contributory ESA, you might be able to add income-related ESA to it, giving you more money. See Income-related ESA below for more information on this”””””1 -
Forum issue At the moment so can’t link or edit - but my above post is linked from thus:

I was also given that information by DWP.

Looking online it saying 'You can claim both ESA(CB) and Income Related ESA (IR ESA). If you meet the eligibility criteria for both, but you can only get the income-related part as a top-up to the contribution part.' Mine is solely ESA(CB) with no income related top up.

I was actually on DLA (2012) and consulted with my “welfare rights” team (they where VERY GOOD ) who got me on LCWRA - then after appeals -( and months of phone calls) - I was eventually placed in the support group (I had to fill in the ESA50 mind and was rejected for the support group until these appeals by me and my Welfare-rights team. ItSo I’ve been on this ESA (old style legacy) from 2013 till present, as found the letter tonight (amazingly - and yes, those old “brown letters”too). Doesn’t/didn’t say for how long for, though - but my “brown-letter” syndrome disappeared - at least…
Cheers1 -
They're white envelopes now dropping through you letterbox.☺️ I've had to fill in the ESA50 form a few times as well. Have been placed into the support group and was told I didn't need to be reassessed again in 2021. Goodness knows what will happen now with all these proposed changes.😳

@YogiBear i don’t know what will happen either, but seems to me (the way these threads have been going)) that these benefits being discussed (ESA-CB/support group) will be on the back burner. (Just my thoughts)
cheers 💤💤💤3 -
Thank you so much for your help and taking time to reply, I'll give them a call

On one of posts I said about the treasury mp Darren Jones comparing cuts to his children pocket money being taken away. Rachel reeves did the same saying a 16 year old who has pocket money cut can do a paper round to make some money unbelievable out of touch deluded woman.
With Richard tice vile comment we should email him and tell him how hard it is, and what effect it will have on us. While they get their over 93 thousand next year. Also Darren Jones was quizzed by Victoria Derbyshire about the wording in pip, and he blamed it on clinicians, she said no it was written by you . He was all flustered serves him right
