Fake propaganda like this in papers and TV show is what makes people against welfare. It is deliberate. THESE ARE FAKE NUMBERS. These number haven't even happened yet and they are trying to get public angry on disabled people. I wouldn't be surprised if they money that is saved is going into politicians BACK POCKETS! Don't be surprised if that's true at all.

ThThank you. So at the moment there is no news of what protection will be put in place for those with lifelong conditions, is that correct?
And from what I've stated, and as far as you can see from that, you think the only changes to affect me will be the frozen payments?
I expect to be reassessed before summer 2027 for PIP. Given that I scored 4 points in one of the daily living categories, and since my conditions haven't changed, if anything they've gotten worse, do you think I'd qualify again for PIP?
ThThank you.

that’s correct
yes, the freezing of the health element on UC
I don’t know, but if conditioned hasn’t change I guess you’ll get the same award. I can’t tell cause I don’t know the future but the probability is high for the award to stay the same.1 -
I'm half expecting a rise in the points needed for Enhanced PIP - To reduce the number of claimants at a higher level….I wouldn't put it past labour to do that….

I'm beyond worried...which is exacerbating my conditions massively.
I decided to email my local MP to request she oppose this disasterous and deadly decision to go after disabled people in this manner ...however..after checking her 'stance' on the proposed benefit cuts...she is in favour of them...therefore there is no point in emailing to request her support...as it clearly won't be given!
They have got all of their figures wrong in any case!...the OBR have disputed that the disability cuts labour propose...will make the savings that labour claim!
Labour want to get people back into work who are in receipt of PIP...do labour not realise that many people who are currently in receipt if PIP are actually already WORKING!...(which is permitted)! ...so are they just assuming that every person who is in receipt of PIP is not working!!... are they basing their figures on this?....
Labour have targeted Disability Benefits… NOT with the purppse of getting people back into employment...as many are already in employment who are able to work with the aid of PIP....
It is purely a money saving exercise...in which they haven't even got the correct figures to work from themselves (re OBR information)…if you base decisions on the wrong information...which is not fact or a true account...then it stands to reason...the wrong decision will be made.
The 4 points on any 1 task is a totally inappropriate marker for someone being able to qualify for PIP....and if they don't score 4 points...then they are deemed fit to work is just madness!...Just because someone can wipe their own backside/ lift a spoon to their mouth to feed themselves/wash the upper part of their body does NOT directly correlate to them being able to hold down a job repeatedly for a number of set hours every day...therefore it can and should NOT be used as a direct comparisson as it is is anything 'but' . It is as ludicrous as saying if someone can swim 10 meters...then they are capable of swimming The Channel!!!!
....yes...you can possibly swim in the general term...but just because you can 'swim' does not mean you are able to swim huge distances…over an alotted timescale every day!!!.....however this seems to be the stance Labour have taken......in their proposed future assessments to ascertain if people will quality for PIP!
The changes Labour are proposing for the future ...make it necessary for a claimant of PIP to have an actual Carer...before they would be eligible to qualify...under the 4 point rule.
Personal Independent Payment is indeed that....the clue is in the title!....Personal Independence!....it helps people live as independent life as possible...by enabling them to be as INDEPENDENT as possible.....with the help of aids and adaptations....not by taking away what little self respect and privacy they have.... by forcing them to go down the care route in order to qualify. This is a huge step backwards... people will feel useless....having what little independence and privacy taken away along with still having to cope with their disabiility...resulting in more mental health problems... all of this will only result in increased costs and strain put onto an already failing NHS and Care System.....Disability cuts are DEFINITELY NOT the answer Chancellor...and will only exacerbate the NHS and care services ten fold....so be careful what you wish for....because cutting disability benefits will NOT save the economy....it will be the catalyst that plunges it further into debt.…as well as causing needless deaths as people stuggle to live without any support....until they can struggle no more. This labour government will have blood on their hands if they are allowed to bring these proposed cuts into effect.

As it stands Labour are likely to lose the Senedd next year
with Plaid.Lab.Reform Neck and Neck.
Labour List have 15 confirmed Labour MP's who will vote against
with another 10 likely,
Its very telling the head of comms has resigned, he's only been in the post 9 months

No, I don't have photoshop! It just gave me something to focus on for an hour or so yesterday to try and stop feeling nauseous about what's going to happen to us 😡
Suits her though doesn't it….4 -
On UC LCWRA after migration from Income Based ESA Support Group my question is this, from what I am reading it appears that focus will be engage on a regular basis with jobcentre rather than WCA...hopefully...if this is true then we get to 2028/9. Providing we all get there without WCA what then? We are existing claimants so are we simply renamed UC Health chucked off or made to do the pip WCA

This thread seems to have strayed from the intended topic, the Spring statement.

That's exactly what this government want.

👏👏 Well said. The clue is in the title Personal "Independence" Payment.
I have a carer but still don't score four on any descriptors
I have pointed out time and time again that the previous government has gone on about their wish for people to live independently.
How devious therefore is this proposed reform. Encourage people to remain living independently…. then take away the means for them to do so.
The current "Government" (Reeves/Kendall) absolutely has a separate agenda here.2 -
Reform Party are no friend of disabled people, same with the Tories and Labour.
2 -
In comparison to other rich nations the UK is particularly weird in its prejudice against sickness and disability claimants, almost certainly as a direct result of decades of right-wing newspaper propaganda.
3 -
They hate the disabled because they think we are getting free money but the government has not invested in society enough so it's cheaper for them now to keep us on it. We are the victims not them. We live on the little money and get by whilst everything is getting more expensive.
They can do all the propaganda they want. When this happens, if it happens and gets passed in parliament they don't realise the amount of people that will suffer. They don't have no idea what this country will become. You think crime is bad now. Supermarkets locking up food. It will get worse.
The Labour party has done a nasty thing and everyone knows now what they are doing to the disabled. They are not ready. Now they have done this nasty thing and want us to go along with it it will not work. They have done a bad thing. It would be something I will be very happy about that before they get too happy with themselves that they pay us MORE than they want to. They will not get away with it.
