Please, don't quote Wikipedia here and don't tell me that I hate someone.
For me, ONLY A PERSON matters, regardless of where they live, where they come from, what their religion is or the color of their skin.
It seems that you still don't understand your "fox pas" you wrote that Poland IS part of the Russian empire, not that Poland WAS part of that empire.
If you write in English on an English-language forum, such a "mistake" completely changes the context of the statement and leads to false conclusions.
P.S
You above wrote:
"Let me note that in 1920, 1956, 1970, 1981 and 1989 the Russian Empire definitely no longer existed."
However, in an earlier post you write:
"In Western Ukraine, which Stalin took from Poland in 1939 (Poland is part of the Russian Empire)"
so it would be necessary to specify what you mean by writing "Russian Empire", Russia before or after the October Revolution in 1917 ?

There is no trick - the Russian Empire has not existed since the widely known date.
Also, don't forget about
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_SejmSilent Sejm (Polish: Sejm Niemy; Lithuanian: Nebylusis seimas), also known as the Mute Sejm, is the name given to the session of the Sejm parliament of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth of 1 February 1717 held in Warsaw.[1] A civil war in the Commonwealth was used by the Russian Tsar Peter the Great as an opportunity to intervene as a mediator. It marked the end of Augustus II of Poland's attempts to create an absolute monarchy in Poland, and the beginning of the Russian Empire's increasing influence and control over the Commonwealth.

With all due respect, I see that we do not understand each other. I know history and I do not want to rewrite it.
What irritated me was your statement:
"In Western Ukraine, which Stalin took from Poland in 1939 (Poland is part of the Russian Empire)"
and it should be that:
"In Western Ukraine, which Stalin took from Poland in 1939 (Poland was part of the Russian Empire from 1772 until 1918)"
… do you see the difference for someone who does not need to know the history of Eastern Europe and reads your post?
… it is similar to the phrase "Polish death camps" often used in the West to describe the concentration camps established by the Germans in occupied Poland during World War II.

Hi all. Please can we keep this respectful to one another. We all have different experiences and opinions. We're all on the same team - sometimes it's best to agree to disagree. 🙂

I have listed the Russian Empire and Soviet Ukraine in one post. The names clearly indicate historical periods.
About Polish death camps0 -
Sorry but I don't intend to discuss with you any more.
To be precise I mentioned the incorrect phrase "Polish death camps" describing Nazi concentration camps in Poland in the context of World War II, which as you probably know took place in 1939-1945 and not the period you are talking about.
Anyway, end of topic from my side.
Have a nice day.

What are people's opinions of Trump's tariffs?
And should we simply retaliate with the same?

Trump needs to be charged huge amounts by other countries that he visits during his tenure in fact all previously friendly countries – not only massive landing fees and tax (at 1,000,000 %) also a special orange tax… at perhaps £10000000 per kg of HIS weight - and when he refuses to pay - he should be impounded !
This assumes that he will eventually leave the USA….Instead, Starmer is planning on inviting him to a royal visit – staying at Balmoral – with the king ?
Hoping that a bribe will affect Trumps decision on Tariffs – sorry Starmer, it won’t affect any decision that the Orange fool has made.

China are on a fight back & considering all the American high end items that are made there, good! The Americans won't want prices getting out of hand, which they could now, just from that. It will be interesting to see which other countries with his very high tarriffs react. India & Vietnam also manufacture an awful lot, the reasonably priced clothing, shoes etc., something will get through to the minds & pockets I would have thought. He has to be told, not let him do the telling, it is the world that has to stand up to him, as we'll all end up paying his price.

I’m not into politics, personally I don’t choose to vote. However, how on earth America let Trump be elected into office again beggars belief! He has ties to Prince Andrew, Jeffrey Epstein a Chislaine Maxwell. He is also a convicted felon who dodged jail! What he has done since coming back into power just smacks of a power hungry megalomaniac!! The boarder he is putting up along Mexico is ludicrous, how he wants to illegally go after Greenland to add it to the other states in America, all of the illegal deportation of migrants is ludicrous, if he wants to go down that road then just empty America fully and leave behind just the Native American Indians who are the only indigenous people in the country. Then all of these trade tariffs are going to plunge the world into a massive economic recession! Now he has imposed tariffs on the UK, we as a country should impose tariffs on all American Imports, Tax of the American companies in the UK, evict the American Embassy and seize control of Trumps Golf Course in Scotland. The fact he is leaning more towards Putin in the illegal invasion of Ukraine just speaks volumes of the despot. Now he is stationing B2 Spirit Bombers on Diego Garcia which is escalating tensions with threats of an attack on Iran which will then have a knock on effect with China invading Taiwan, then more than likely North Korea will be attacked, leading to an all out nuclear war. We as a country are at our weakest point in a military standing more so than the last 30 plus years!! We have yet again another inept leader and government in power, who are systematically taking this country back to the 1970s! The Bin Strikes in Birmingham beggars belief, but as a former Council Worker, I stand by and Support the Refuse Workers who are on strike. The fact the current government removed The Winter Fuel Allowance from Pensioners, targeted People who rely on PIP, ESA and Universal Credit just really does smack of bullying! We have yet again another government rewarding the rich, while trampling on the working class who keep this country going. The last man to ever enter parliament with honest intent was Guy Fawkes

Americans are just hurting themselves more and screwing themselves over more than the rest of the world. The world doesn't generally buy american anyway, their vehicles are too big for roads and don't follow eu's pollution policies. The food they produce is full of rubbish and have alot of chemicals in them banned by the rest of the world. if anything the only thing this is going to do is hurt the American population more, as most things are still imported into America, like vehicle parts, technology parts, clothes and most day to day items.
The world can cope quite easily with not buying American, but America relies on it. I mean I don't mean to be rude, but I knew Americans were abit stupid. But not this stupid. How can they trust and follow a guy with that much fake tan on him.

I think he and his policies are sinister. The deportation this week of an innocent man flown to an El Salvador prison because of an 'admin error' is so sad and despite the courts ruling he has to be returned to the US, Trump isn't doing anything to facilitate that so far.
And I don't believe for one second that his tariffs won't affect us, they absolutely will at some point and we're seeing it already with the fall in the global stock markets. Like we need a world recession right now. He's a very dangerous liability imo.

He doesn't care what he does - as long as it makes him look GREAT
He doesn't even care about US residents - which I think/ hope will come and bite him in his rear !

He's a cheat.
He's a liar.
He's vain.
He's greedy.
He's deluded.
He's a coward.
He's uncouth.
He's a convicted felon.
He's an adjudicated rapist.
He's uneducated.
He's repulsive on every possible level.
I follow American politics very closely, and there's some schadenfreude to be had watching the #FAFO videos where Americans voted for him, believing he'd punish those who not them, only to discover he cares less than two hoots about them. He even told them upfront he didn't care about them, he only wanted their votes.
Again, schadenfreude but watching videos with the #I didn't believe the leopards would eat my face! are quite heartening because it means the tide is beginning to turn.
That said, I feel 'Murica has descended the slippery slope at such a pace there may be no way back for ordinary people for decades, if ever at all.
Oh, that rant felt good! 😀
