How's it going? Any updates? I've heard nothing since I submitted mine. Just incredibly stressed out by the news today. I have no idea where I stand.

Hi. Only just heard from them today. They're coming beginning April to do home ID check.

Hi, I'm v confused as usual.

I submitted my migration to UC on 3rd March and am having my ID checked at home later this week. I have just logged into my online banking account and see that I received my usual full payment of ESA on 12th March and also another full ESA payment of 26th March.

Is this correct? Is the full ESA payment on the 26th March my last one?

ESA is paid two weeks in arrears.

If there has been any overpayment (it happens) this will be deducted from your UC award.

So it's just because of the timings of my ESA payments and the date I made my migration to UC?

I don't need to do anything?

Yes. This is what happened with mine. The ID verification took so long that I ended up with an extra ESA payment. That was then deducted from a future UC payment as it had been overpaid.

Thanks for that. Glad it's not just me.

I assume you mean that it was automatically deducted from you UC payment? With an explanation as to what the deduction was for?

Yes, it was automatically deducted in full in my case.

I did also have a housing benefit overpayment. That one was not deducted in full automatically. I got a letter in the journal about choosing to either repay in small amounts each month, or to pay that off in full via bank transfer. I chose to also pay that one off in full to get it over with.

    Hi,

I received my second and most likely final ESA payment on the 18th March. That should be my last payment from them....now I just wait to see what happens.

Hope the home visit goes well @moosee 🙏 let us know how it goes.

A nice man came this morning to verify my ID. He was polite and gentle. I had my Dad with me.

He used my birth certificate, driving licence, out of date passport, and bank card. My passport is 10 years out of date but he still used it 🤷‍♀️

Hoping my claim can progress now. My statement is supposed to be available on the 5th and 1st payment on the 9th, I think.

Approx what time of day are UC payments made? Or can it just be anytime up to midnight?

UC payments are anytime up until midnight.

The payment statement is often available 1-2 days before the date you've been given.

Hi Moosee, so glad that you met a lovely man who was nice to you!

I have no idea about any of the payment structure to be honest. Mine has changed now to the 11th April and then statement until the 15th April.

Hope everything now goes smoothly for you.

Thanks Kimi. My statement isn't available so far today. I hope you will be on hand to help me understand it when the time comes!

Hi Kimi, do we get a notification that our statement is available or do I just have to keep checking?

    Hi, can anyone help?

When I log in now and go to payments section it says:

"If you can get Universal Credit:

    • on 5 April 2025 we will tell you how much you will get
    • on 9 April 2025 you will be paid any money you are entitled to

We will tell you before that if you cannot get Universal Credit.

You can find more information about payments in the 'How to manage your Universal Credit claim' guide.

    How we calculate your payment

If you can get Universal Credit, your payment will be based on what you've told us. You can check how much you might get on GOV.UK.

It's important to tell us about any changes immediately that could affect your Universal Credit payment.

It is likely that your payment will be made up of the following:

    Standard Allowance

You get a standard amount each month. You said you're single.

    Housing

You said that you pay your rent

    Health

You said your health affects you at work or prevents you from working. You might need to have an assessment before we can consider if you will get extra money for this.

    What we might take off

    Earnings

We slowly reduce your payment as you earn more.

    Deductions

We might take money off your payment to repay an advance or pay off debts - for example, if you are behind on your rent.

    Benefit Cap

There is a limit on the total amount of benefit you can get. We might take money off your payment if you are over this limit. Check the benefit cap limits on GOV.UK."

Today is the 5th and i cannot see a statement anywhere. Is that because it's a Saturday or what? Help please, I have no idea what's going on and am getting stressed.

That just means the statement hasn't been generated yet.

They are automatically generated so can appear on weekends.

There isn't anything to worry about yet, just check again this evening or tomorrow and hopefully it will be available then.

Ok, thanks OA. Impossible for me not to stress! This whole thing is far too much for me to cope with. I was wondering if there was a delay cos I only had my ID verified on Thurs and not heard anything since?

Also, will I get a notification (by email) to tell me my statement is available? Or do they just appear without them telling us?
