I'm glad to hear that being in the Community has made all the difference to you. ๐
I'm sure that you were given another chance by Scope. They know they have disabled people in great mental distress who really need every opportunity to access this forum so they would try very hard to see past your meltdown, it could happen to anyone on here, including me, so I hope you don't blame yourself too much for it. ๐๐
They know that what we are going through with these evil proposals would be enough to make anyone with perfect physical or mental health have a breakdown of some kind, never mind what it'll do to us! ๐ฑ
It's great to know that they are so sympathetic and helpful and have truly got our back. ๐ช
I can really relate to you, I'm with my partner now but I have two failed marriages behind me. That goodness I'm with a genuinely good man at last. ๐
I can relate to autism too. I've had terrible problems with functioning in the outside world and with other people. My partner suspects that he's autistic too and I would say that he is, definitely.
I tried to get a offical diagnosis of it some years ago. It was all going really well, the women from the (then) Aspergers team who dealt with me had confirmed it without doubt and that my Dad was autistic too, which I was convinced he was too. My Mum was by then convinced that we both were.
Things then took a nasty turn. The Care Co-ordinator who dealt with me with this was, I'm afraid to say, a nasty piece of work. She said that for my actual diagnosis that I would have to see the head of the Aspergers Team. She was unpleasant too and completely dismissed everything the other women had said and I didn't get an the diagnosis.
As you probably know yourself, some people get into healthcare because they genuinely want to help people and others just want control those same people and set them up to fail. ๐
That's just my own story so please don't be put off getting what diagnosis you need. You are going for an ADHD test so, good luck with it, ๐ค๐ you don't have to end up as I did with the autism diagnosis!! You say that you are 100% autistic, I hope that means you had a successful diagnosis. I certainly believe that I'm autistic, diagnosed or not. ๐ฏ Sadly it was too late for my Dad anyway, he died at the age of 85 three months after my failed diagnosis. ๐ข
What the government are doing is breathtaking sadism as far as I'm concerned. It does make you want to have nothing more to do with society, I agree but from what I can gather, there are many more people out there than ever before who are on our side after hearing just how vicious these proposals are.
The media have unwittingly helped us as they have really put Reeves on the back foot, when confronting her about the damage it will cause us. As far as I'm concerned they are only doing it because it's something to bring Labour down with, they'd have never done it to the Tories, but it's played into our hands and got a lot of information out there about just how badly we're being treated for a change.
Not everyone in this country is as morally bankrupt as the government and the fact that these cuts are so deverstating and are going to affect such a large number of disabled people plus really impact our family and friends, I'm convinced that Starmer and Co have really bitten off more than they can chew with the British people.
It's going to be a very long wait to see what happens, which really does defies description, of the impact of just that alone is going to have on us but PLEASE don't give up. ๐ It is SO well worth seeing what is going to come of all this. There is still a great deal to play for.
Do take care of yourself xx ๐ You've got this! ๐ช
