@Holly_Scope, is there any chance you could include the Benefits and Work news article ( re Pension age PIP claimants, in this discussion please or maybe pin it. I think its very important that folk, of a certain age like myself, read it and they miss it if its left in the closed thread. I tried to bring it over but failed miserably. Thank you ☺️

From what I have read on Benefits and work the online consultation didn’t happen due to no one being able to connect to the meeting.

Shocking, absolutely abysmal behaviour by DWP, the Benefits and Work news article shows what a shambles the whole consultation is.

My Lcwra does not state if I was deemed a substantial risk. Am I to take it that they don't view me as substantial risk? And if so, is this a good thing or bad thing in light of the new welfare proposals?
Also, do we have any hope left of a U turn on the cuts? I need some hope, I'm at my wits end now.

Disability talk with Steve on YouTube has a new video about an article in The Canary regarding DWP whistleblowers who say they’ve quietly changed the access to work scheme. The government are again saving money by making employers liable for equipment disabled workers may need. This proves the whole reason for pip cuts is cost cutting. Surely if this comes into law it can be challenged?

May I ask when the following occurs:
30 Labour MPs have scheduled meetings with us about how they can act against benefit cuts in Parliament. Campaigners can still invite their MP to meet with us during the consultation period.
And also about green paper consultation action which campaigners have been completing. This helps the Government to understand the real impact of making it harder to claim PIP. - is this something different that we can respond to?
Also the links that you give at the end of this as a seeming alternative seem a bit back to front as the first link is to the questions, but surely members need to read the Green Paper first in order to answer these questions? As another alternative, & I'm not the first to feel the same, this so-called 'consultation' isn't actually consulting on some of the measures that are important to many in our community, so I'd like to ask you to provide the email link so that members might consider using that instead of responding directly to the Govt's Green Paper:

Its the not knowing which is so difficult. We are all being suspended in a hellish kind of limbo at the moment. I've been scouring the Internet reading all kinds of different articles from the news, disability websites, benefits websites etc... and so much is contradictory information. Some articles do give glimmers of hope, some give fire in the belly to fight this tooth and nail, and some leave the reader in complete despair.
Essentially, control of our own lives has been taken away from us in the midst of these welfare proposals. For many of us our lives were already partly out of our control, and have been for many years. Now, we have no control. We know our own limitations, we know what we're physically capable of, and what will put us on our backs. We know this, the health professionals know this, yet those who have the upper hand here, and who are toying with our very lives do not know this, and it seems have no wish to know. They don't care whether their proposals are causing untold stress, worry, anxiety, depression...... exasperating many of our physical illnesses, and yes, taking its toll big time on our mental health too. If we were able to tell them, explain to them just how devastating their proposals are on a personal, minute, day to day level, they would not want to hear it, or be so tunnel visioned that it would not matter to them.
They are playing with our lives, and it seems like there is very little we can do about it. They have the control.
As long as they fill in this so called black hole, it matters little to them whom they stamp on to get that done.
Apologies for this rant, I've just had enough now and needed a safe place to get these thoughts out of my head.

I think this was a case of sabotage on the part of the DWP. They have nothing to say, they don't want to listen to either the disabled or the pensioners.

Thank you Chiarieds, I think that news article is really important to some here and would be lost in a closed thread. Plus I agree that there should be something in the title here that links this post back to the original post, that post may have become bloated so I do understand the need to close it but now the whole discussion has become a little disjointed in my humble opinion.

I've always sent assessment forms by parcel post for next day delivery 🤣 Anything for DWP is registered, requiring a signature. They are too slippery for anything less.
