I think that our situation has blown up way beyond WFA and the child benefit cap. From what I've read disabled people and DPOs and many more have done a great job of getting MPs informed before the vote.

The reaction from MPs is of disgust that this is happening to the Labour Party and saying that the leadership should not be pushing these poisonous reforms on them. Many are wondering what on earth they came into politics for if they are expected to back something as damaging as this to vulnerable claiments and the reputation of the Labour Party.

They say that the rest of what they are trying to do in government is being overshadowed by the welfare cuts. Especially as they are very unhappy about how they have been mislead by the leadership and expected to vote with so little correct information about it and months before the impact assessment from the OBR which is due in October.

We have been ignored for years and have got used to this situation. The governments of the past took our support off us a bit at a time. This one has taken it all in one go so has made a big difference to how seriously it's being taken. Plus that the government is a Labour one now who are not supposed to back deeply regressive polices like this, turning its back on it's voters.

Only the mobility component of PIP has not been mentioned and in the latest of three emails to my MP (Although the Conservatives are not our friend he's actually sent me some decent replies! 😮) I have pointed out that once our daily living disappears, the DWP will soon question the eligibility to the mobility, so every bit of our support will go. 😡

I could be wrong but I think that we have got more to be optimistic about than we know. 👍

Just read an article in the mirror , up to 170 MPs in revolt , but starmer says no way he's backing down .... To be honest I'm not taking my own advice in the slightest really am I 😂 I always advise not to look to much into everything until you have a good idea of things , so many of us on here hanging on every single article and tit bit we read or hear .... One day we read something and it gives us hope , the next one bad sentence and the whole mood here changes .... Just shows how the media influences our lives .... It's so hard to ignore though , where ever you look it's there .... Just messes with people health on a dangerous level , wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone in the world just boycotted any form of media and there was no use for it and it collapsed....I just got this horrible feeling that that piggy faced disgusting geezer will get his way , I think winter fuel and child cap will really play apart .... Although I may well be underestimaing how many people complained to them on the doors at the locals 🤷....it was all about winter fuel just after but I must admit I see more and more MPs citing benefit cuts as a real problem .... Starmer is a dictator of the highest order .... I think it goes under the radar a little about how much of one he actually is , I despise the man

Agree! I'm just turned 64 so overturning the WFP does not affect me at this stage (still have 3 more years to state pension) 🤬. Child poverty does not affect me either as my children are all grown up. Yet I am in the process of awaiting a WCA with a view to LCWRA and possibly PIP if I go down that route. So going back on these other two issues does not help everyone that is sick/disabled. Bad enough they keep putting state pension age up but to be further discriminated against because I'm not over 66/67 or I have multiple children is taking the piddle. So no, I am not happy as we are not being treated equally.

So what do you A_Z1961 and secretsquirrel1 suggest, someone goes without while you keeps yours, very selfish attitude you have there. We all need to win, but according to you we shouldn't as long as you're alright. This discussion is going the wrong way in my opinion.

I do think they they should give the winter fuel allowance to the elderly who need it , never said I didn’t. But they are talking about removing money from the disabled and in turn losing lcwra meaning we either have to work or those of us who simply can’t will be sanctioned. For starmer to say we will help the elderly ( which I agree with) and people to have more children at the expense of getting these reforms through and leaving the disabled destitute I think would be disgusting . If you don’t like this discussion don’t involve yourself or call people selfish if they don’t agree with you .

Exactly and after so many people are protesting and writing to our MPs cis we are fighting for our existence. Last time Tory’s did this people died , I can’t think of anything more extreme than that . Why should we be sacrificed as though we are worth less .

It started with the imaginary black hole , then they went on a spending spree and expect us to pay for it . I really think there’s more to all these decisions as he’s destroying the Labour party and I can’t help thinking it’s on purpose

Rachel Freeze Reeves loses support over benefit cuts, she is saying that she's now listening to what's going on regarding the WFP.

It doesn't sound like she is prepared to do any compromise.

But like it’s wrong to buy a council house and deplete council stock all while buying your own council house . Labour hypocrisy.

    Hi

I think they made a mistake sending mine so early because originally I was awarded until September this year but they extended it August next year due to backlogs but anyway I am just glad to have sent the form off.

I requested a paper based or telephone assessment so we will see what eventually happens.

    Good luck with yours.

    Take care.
