I'm struggling to understand why they want to introduce this and what benefit they think it would have. The supposed benefits suggested don't make sense and have been refuted by experts… Sooo…..
It's a no from me! 👎️

As someone who's online a lot, I expect combining all the various companies like FB, the DWP, JustEat, Google, they already have all of my data. 🤷♂️

True true @Albus_Scope, my data is everywhere but combining them all in one central place, from an organisation (the gov) I don't like, or trust, whose leader and use of said data could end up being someone like Farage?? I'll pass.
Do I care uber knows how many deliveries I get each week,
a little, it's far too much,no!Do I care my bank and shops know I spent £60 at adultsuperstore (I didn't, but if I did), again no.
Do I care that one organisation, that I don't like, trust, and controls the legislation around my income, housing, medical care and everything else, will have access to it all combined in one neat place and can use it as evidence of whatever they fancy? And can use it to deny access to places, shops, products and anything else that whoever is in charge decides? Absolutely.
Look at the US and how they're using period tracker apps against people? We should be being more concerned about our data, not less.

It's been done for many years with farm animals double ear tags passports tattooed ears microchips blah blah

There's a big Difference we consent to that if I decided to go back to a basic phone and ditch all that its my choice with Digital ID it wont be

What is a period tracker what i think it is ?? And if it is why would they want to know that

Yeah but I don't want to be a farm animal wearing ear tags 😫 (Edit: Unless it's a pig, I love pigs!)
Waaaiit, farm animal? Animal farm eh? 😁

All good points there @Biblioklept having everything centralised will of course have pros and cons. Though, I'm pretty sure the games giant Ubisoft has all of my data, all in one place by now. 😆

It's exactly what you think it is, people use them to know when they're next due etc, but with the stricter contraception and abortion rules in the US it's been causing issues with companies selling data

100% agree with everything you said @MW123! You worded it far more articulately than I ever could ❤️

I don't think that making ID Cards compulsory is going to solve anything.
To start with - if you lose it - how will you get a replacement and how long will it take ?
Then there's forgeries - no matter how clever they get with design - forgers are one step ahead.
Then there's a problem that if it gets stolen - you will have to prove your Identity before anyone believes you .
The whole idea fills me with dread - they will no doubt rely on these ID Cards and when you forget or lose it - you will be seriously lost !

They passed some bill in June to set this up not quiet sure what but a stepping stone hopefully be enough pushback but seems starmer gets through what he wants if I had capacity to learn or retain information I would take driving lessons and sell everything get a camper van but with my mind it holds noting because im seriously trying to think of ways to escape the matrix and come up with no plan

Making it compulsary is a laugh, how are they going to force people to have it? fines? prison?
Also I have some family who are technophobes and never used a computer in their life, let and don't even have a smart phone. How are they going to force people who don't even use anything related to technology to have one.

This world is so messed up at the moment, with trump in the US, politicians in the UK, wars in the rest of the world. I have very little faith in humanity at the moment. I can't help but think we are on the verge of something major happening in the world and tbh at this point I'm kinda wishing it as the whole world needs shaking up.
