Our friend and colleague Albus (Upsetting content)

Hello everyone,
I am writing to share some very sad news about our colleague and friend @Albus_Scope
Unfortunately, following a short illness, Albus passed away very suddenly late last week.
Albus was part of the community team for the past two years and cared so deeply about the community and all of you. I know he made a lot of difference and meant a great deal to many people here. He poured himself and his heart into everything he did and I can tell you that Albus meant so much to his friends and colleagues and we will all miss him so much more than we can put into words.
I know some of you might take this news quite hard, so we will share some resources below, but in the meantime if you would like to share your thoughts or feelings about Albus below, please do so.
Albus was a huge advocate for people struggling, and this extended beyond his work. He loved to help others, whether they be human or animal, however he could. Our conversations at work were filled with pictures of the animals he cared for or was nursing back to health, and we can't see a pigeon without recalling the many photos he shared of him with a pigeon on his head!
In his memory we have started a Pigeon Appreciation thread and a new Pet Corner, where we hope many of you will join us in sharing photos of pigeons you see in the wild or of the pets you care for. We know he would have loved to have seen any pictures you share.
Please keep one another in mind over the coming days and we would ask that where possible you afford the online community team who worked mostly closely with Albus a little time and leniency while we grieve the loss of our friend.

I actually feel sick reading this and don't quite know how to respond, I know it sounds crazy and some people might think it's 'just online' but his goodness just shone through it, he was so so kind and caring and honestly made me laugh so much and helped me understand myself and accept myself, and so much more!!! He helped me more than I think I ever expressed and this probably sounds weird but he was such a big part of my life!!!
As heartbroken as I am I'm thinking about all the people that knew him in 'real life' too, if I'm this upset and only knew him here, I can't even think how those closer to him feel right now it doesn't even bare thinking about oh jeez 😪
He was one of the good ones and the world didn't deserve someone like him 💔

I am in utter shock today. Albus helped me so much when I started at Scope and figuring out the Online Community. Nothing was ever too big or too small, and he would always help as soon as he could.
I appreciated his openness to talk about his neurodiversity on the Online Community.
Sending love to our brilliant Online Community at this difficult moment ❤️

I'm so very saddened by the news of the passing of our friend and colleague. He was a warm, caring and thoroughly decent human being. One of the good guys. I'll keep feeding the pigeons and the occasional collared dove, my friend.

Albus was always so kind and so helpful. Nothing was ever too much for him.
I loved hearing him talk about his latest 3D printing creation, his dogs who he loved so much and the latest tales from the pigeon A&E. And of course all of the memes😄
He was a massive part of the online community team and a huge part of the community itself and I will miss him lots💜9 -
So it's taken me a while to know what to write as this is so painful for me. I've decided to write it completely as myself and not as a community coordinator.
I can't believe he's gone, it still doesn't feel real. He was such a huge part of our team, the community, and he was always there for me, no matter what he was going through himself. There have been lots of tears since I found out and they just won't stop. Seeing the impact he's had on so many people is truly wonderful and the world is a darker place for having lost him.
I wish this wasn't happening and that he'd come online and tell us all about his latest pigeon rescue. I miss him so much ❤️

Albus was an amazing man. He was kind, gentle, hilarious and unashamedly always just himself. He seemed like he couldn't be anything but the person he was and why would he ever want to be anything else?
He spent his life making people feel safe and making them feel heard and for people who never felt like they could take up space, it meant so much that Albus somehow always made room for everyone, whoever they were, whenever they needed it. He took joy in other people's achievements and felt other people's pain.
I will miss his pigeons, I will miss his 'pocket nuts', I will miss when we would both sign-in for work too early and gripe about our aches and pains. I will miss his wry little remarks and how we would laugh about the world. I will miss when we would lose track of time in meetings and talk about everything but what we'd put time aside to discuss. I will miss his ideas and his imagination. I will miss the things we both loved and bonded over and the things I will now never again look at the same way. I will miss a hundred thousand little things that he said or did.
Albus just made my bad days a little less **** and my good days even better.
I will miss Albus because he was irreplaceable and I wish I had told him that when he could still hear it. And it is my greatest hope that he still can.10 -

Absolutely devastated to have lost our wonderful friend Albus. As others have said before me, it's been so hard to accept what has happened and to put into words just how much I'll miss him.
His warmth, gentleness and utterly silly humour brought light to every day you spent with him. He was as genuine as anyone could be and gave so much of himself to making others feel happy and accepted. I can't even begin to imagine the countless people he's helped and supported over the years, not only through the community he so loved, but just through being who he was day to day.
And I know he probably would never have believed it if you'd told him, but I wish he could have seen how truly special he was to us all. A beautiful friend and just all-round excellent human. I feel very grateful to have known him.
He will be so incredibly missed by all the people, cats, dogs, pigeons, carnivorous plants, and just about anyone and anything else that was lucky enough to have had him in their lives.

I am absolutely shocked and so sad of @Albus_Scope sudden passing.
I only knew of him on the Scope Forum and I felt he had such a wonderful soul.
I send my condolences to all that knew him personally, loved ones, friends and colleagues.

Oh, very sorry to hear that.
Albus was a very nice and reassuring, supportive presence here on this site. I'm sure he has helped many many people in ways we don't even know.
My condolences to all who grieve for him.
