The landscape is changing. While today was nice it is now zero outside.

The house is always warm and it is a priority for me.

Quiet Day at the mill, just been watching tv for the most part. I’ve applied to a local Advocacy group to work alongside me and help me get my voice heard so as I don’t have to battle my corner alone. I’ve still got the headache of trying to sort a LPA out, with no family or friends to act as someone who would act on my best interest wishes should I lose my mental faculties, neither do I have the ability to keep a legal representative on a retainer let alone pay to draw one one up with a Solicitor.
I then spent three hours helping my neighbour below me with some technical issues with her internet account,45 minutes on the phone, then sorted out a long standing volume issue for her on her tv (that a professional said some virgin media channels are known to be quiet and suggested a box to her) thankfully she is getting rid of virgin media tv, then tuned all her Freeview Channels on the tv ready for the change in Jan, moved her WiFi to an open area for better signal and unplugged a landline that she can’t use and didn’t need.

    Morning All,

Not a good nights sleep, ended up sleeping sat up on the sofa. Feeling exhausted to say the least, still have to sort out the planters and get them potted up before winter. Had them all 3 months and still not made an effort, as an ex Gardener I’m ashamed.

    Had snow overnight

    0 degrees here

    House freezing

Most of the rads don't work properly

I've had British gas on at me over debt

Wanting to put up my monthly dd to 356

    Crazy

As normal I explained my situation to them many times

It's a waste of time as all they care about is money

I've no insulation in the house

I spoke to the green doctor in the summer re free insulation for loft and outside of the house, but never heard back

    In the meantime I freeze

    Morning everyone ☺️

Sorry your house is so cold @Amberpearl. It may be worth having another chat with Scope's Energy Support team to see if they can help you stay warm over winter. https://www.scope.org.uk/disability-energy-support

waiting for More bloods at GP before they can give me something else for the swelling in my hands, wrists ankles and foot. Not sure why when they know from the previous ones it's rheumatoid arthritis The back of my hands have several rolls of excess skin caused by fluid it's horrible.

hope everyone has a good day.

Bees? This late in the year, that is perhaps uncommon but also really nice. We've had honeysuckle blooming until quite recently, but no bees at the moment.

For me, this is more the time of year of the geese starting their migration. But I've already seen them going in the presumably wrong direction, making me wonder if they were flying to the airport hoping to catch a plane to a sunny destination…

I’ve just pulled a whiskey barrel planter from the cupboard and it started to fall apart 🤬 due to me being a plonker and bringing them inside a hot and cold flat it’s dried it out. Have it some gentle taps with a hammer and then leathered it with some quick drying varnish, hopefully it will persuade the wood to swell and close the gaps to the rings. Only issue I have now is I feel like I’m having hot flushes due to just doing that! Must be my age, fine vintage of 1983. Going to be fun using cardboard as a sled to get them down the stairs with me on the stairlift 😆 just hope for a clear day Sunday and I can get them filled up for the Winter.

Oh no. I hope you can fix it. Wood misbehave in different ways with the weather and humidity. The floor of my kitchen has gaps because the wood shrank.

I am now back home. But my mood is not great. Weather is not good. So I will stay at home.

I’ve put a thick layer of clear varnish on it, I’m going to dig some picture nails out of the wall and tack a few under the affected rings to support them. Hopefully the varnish will have acted as a binding agent alongside swelling the wood to support the rings

Good for you, getting one step done in the process! But then again, you are of course a very fine vintage of 1983 :)

Tomorrow is another day, or the next, right? No hurry.

We have some ivy in our garden that's flowering and before the cold snap it was absolutely covered in bees still. Even saw some bumble bees about. They've all disappeared since the temperature dropped though.
