Mental Health is like being on an endless rollercoaster, that every time you get to the stop point the button is pushed again to go! I’ve had another appointment with the area coordinator, going to carry on working with him as it’s been a good experience so far. Fair to say when I showed him a few letters and notes I’d received off the CMHT he was as unimpressed with them as I was. I think there is going to be some fireworks going off somewhere. We both agree I need Psychological input, Vita Minds Councillor in June said I needed more input through the Psychological Aspect of CMHT due to the EUBPD and other complex problems I’ve got going on not being right for the fit for a short term private charity, in black and white in notes it even states I need Psychology input due to my EUBPD, I’ve been refused Psychology Input as OT’s were of the opinion I wanted to work on the here on now problems of isolation, low confidence etc, but OT’s told me to my face last year that I should work on my Counselling and then look at there side of the fence! Then I spent nine months on the waiting list for private counselling. Just doesn’t surprise me one bit, been fighting my corner and try to get my voice heard for a long time now. Even the area coordinator and me had been in agreement about me needing Psychology input. Just truly frustrating and back to square one job again. But I’m used to it and just have too keep fighting each minute of the day. At the thend of the day, the NHS is understaffed, underfunded and under-resourced for the amount of mental health illnesses that climb minute by minute in each town, city, village, hamlet etc.
