@Strawberry1 But can you not ask someone to help you explain how your heart condition impacts on your daily life? We all kmow that simply having a diagnosis isn't evidence to the DWP.
Way back in 2007 when i was still working away, i waa horrified when my then wife asked me to claim DLA as it was then.
I applied alone, and failed to get any points. I re-applied ( i had to be nagged into doing so) with the help of a CAB benefits specialist, and after that and a physical examination in my home, i was awarded higher rate mobility, and lower rate care. The award was indefinite.
I have had another 2 face ro face assessments since then, and both times got PIP, enhanced mobility and the standard rate of care. I must be due a re-assessment in the near future, i can't remember when that last assessment was, maybe 2017.
My condition now has me using a powerchair and scooter, so i might be lucky and get enhanced care this time too. I won't lie or exaggerate for extra money, and i will just take what they award me, no appealing.

Ah @Strawberry1, i see what you are saying about a pacemaker? They are saying you are 'cured '?
I know nothing about pacemakers, but i imagine you have to be careful not to overdo things? Cleaning, getting in shopping? All points you might argue the extra money might help with. It's a lottery it sure is!

Eastenders fan here ๐
Strawberry, it shouldn't be a fight to get your PIP back but you haven't improved, have you? I had to appeal most if not all my incapacity for work determinations.
Shame on them for saying your heart problems aren't important! They are to you and your children. You'll get plenty of advice here and thank goodness your daughter recognises how absurd this is.
Ps I got the boxes down from the cupboard. It's progress ๐

I love Eastenders @WhatThe .
I dunno if ive improved or not @WhatThe .

Thats maybe why Im not up to fighting this .
Im glad you fought your case .
Glad you got your boxes down
Great news .
Maybe any fight i had in me has gone @WhatThe .
Thank you for your support , kindness and time .
To be honest i dont think Im worth fighting for anymore anyway .
It is what it is

A German Shepherd is a beautiful dog to keep @Strawberry1, but they require such alot of care. I don't know how experienced you are with dog keeping. Would your daughter be around to help you with training? They are highly intelligent, but you still need to put in the hard work when they are young.
I always wanted a Doberman Pinscher, but unfortunately, i have run out of good health to have another dog after Gus. Talking of Gus, you could do worse than adopt a Staffordshire Bull Terrier; the council kennels here always have a Staffy in need of a good home. You would be doing a good deed, and saving yourself a small fortune into the bargain.
Dog food doesn't have to cost the earth, but with Gus, i determined that he was going to eat a raw diet, and i see the expense as an insurance policy against future bad health. I simply couldn't have afforded it with a large dog, as raw fed dogs need betweem 2 and 3 % of their body weight per day, depending on exercise levels.
There are plenty of decent quality dry kibble complete foods, but who wants to eat the same thing every day for 1 or 2 months? That's how long some of those massive bags of kibble can last. Like us, the canid thrives on variety in the diet.
When i was a lad, our dogs just got Pedigree Chum and biscuit mixer, but we didn't know then what is common knowlege now. Canned food and mixer, despite containing alot of unnecessary 'filler', it actually works out as expensive as a raw diet.
I could bore on much further, but i've said too much already. I only know what i know through experience. A friendly and knowlegeable pet food wholesaler helped me alot in the past. You won't get service like that in Pets At Home! I say independents like that are worth paying a little extra.

I had a dog many years ago @Chris75_ and ok it wasnt a pedigree but i did all the work in keeping her well trained
I appreciate they are strong dogs highly intelligent
Its a task i would be happy to set myself
It would give me something to focus on .
When i got my dog back in the day
I got her bakers but ive seen a lot of dog foods advertised which look loads better than bakers .
Ive heard so many good stories about staffies but unfortunately my dog was attacked by one and my dog was rushed to the emergancy vet
I know not all staffies are the same but unfortunately its not the kind of dog i would like
Dobermans or Rotties are a favourite of mine too
I will keep in mind the info about the food though .
Cheers for giving me the info though its gratefully appreciated .
I wont be getting a dog yet
Id rather wait for better weather easier to house train then .
At the moment its a dream
But they say dreams come true @Chris75_ so watch this space
Thanks again
And wishing you many happy days with Gus
Best wishes always
