DLA
Hello, my son started receiving DLA last June and I had no idea I had to update Universal credit, I've only just found out now as I assumed universal credit would of been made of aware of it🤦🏼♀️ can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do as I'm worried they are going to think I've been untruthful when I just genuinely didn't know and I am worried I have now left it too long and they'll be suspicious? It's been 8 months since he got it.
I've updated it on my journal this morning and added the correct changes I'm just worried.

You did the right thing updating the journal. Please don't worry as DLA won't have a negative effect on your universal credit payments, if anything your UC payment may be increased now as you may be entitled to the "disabled child addition" and there is more information on that here😊0 -
Thanks Mary for the helpful reply. I assumed as it's my own fault for not knowing that I could get in trouble but I genuinely didn't know i had to inform them! I've been on the phone to uc and declared the changes on my journal and the man said just be prepared for them to ask why you didn't tell them sooner.
