I am my husband's carer he is terminally ill with motor neurons disease I have been his care for 9 years .In this time I have gone into debt just trying to keep house and kids going I have had no respite as my husband refuses it and not a lot of help .I have saved the government millions by keeping my husband at home and also sacrificed my life and well being .I am now at my wits end and had enough .

Hi @Freddie and welcome to the community, although I'm sorry it's under such circumstances. As CR says, we're all here to listen and support you where you can: just let us know what we can help you with. I hope today is as kind as possible to you and your husband.

I would like to take th the government to court for leaving me in this situation when I have saved them millions keeping him at home and giving my life up and kids lives up .I don't think it's fair I have no rights .

Hi @Freddie,
Do you get any support? e.g. from the local authority or through benefits?
You do have rights. The top two links on the Carers UK site outlines the practical and financial support you might be able to get. Sorry in advance if you've already tried these routes to get support. -
We get benefits and carers come in for one hour a day to wash him .and I have no rights everything that happens is up to my husband I don't have a say in anything.I have just been left to get on with it.me and my children have had to give up our lives and the government has saved millions because he wants to stay at home where is my choice in this as I said my children and I have no rights.
