REFORM HAVE SAID THEY WILL CUT ALL BENEFITS
As it comes up to voting time, please remember that Reform boldly and proudly say they are going to significantly cut benefits, especially to those who are receiving health benefits. They will make ALL assessments for benefits face to face with no exceptions. Reform also want to move to an insurance system (like the US has) rather than the NHS.
Conservatives are doing the same. Kemi has specifically said she’s going to significantly cut the welfare bill.
Please vote and vote with care because it will affect your care and others.

@Catherine21 I don’t he’s lovely. The media have been doing everything they can to make people think he’s bad, he’s not. They don’t want a Labour government because Labour prioritises the poor and the other parties prioritise the rich. The media are rich so that’s why they do everything to make people believe he’s bad. He isn’t at all.

Hi all,
Just a quick message to say that the online community is bound by the charities commission not to be promoting any particular party during the local elections. It's totally fine to have an opinion on a party or politician and talk about policies and issues from each party. But please try not to encourage others to vote in a particular way.
For example, you could say something like "think carefully about who you vote for because of [an issue]", but not something like "You must vote for [a particular party], they are our only option". I hope that helps make things clearer but any questions please shout ☺️

so in other words, if you're disabled and cannot work (what some would consider a "useless eater", the government will eventually kill you off.
that outcome is only inevitable under the current system that reform supports.
all the more reason to demand better, including socialism. that starts with voting for candidates/parties that oppose everything Reform stands for.

@SoapySoutar i do agree. I’m definitely voting Labour, out of all the parties they will definitely he the kindest with the disabled and I actually think the media are doing everything on their power to make people dislike Keir but I think he’s doing really well and has integrity.

There is going to a raising of the bar in regards of PIP/UC Health Element.
There is going to be more scrutiny on so called "mild" depression/anxiety - they are being scapegoated in the media over and over again, Fraser Nelson (He's made a career out of bashing people on benefits as of late, a real nasty piece of work), Telegraph, Daily Mail blame them for rising PIP claims ect.
Labour have already halved UC's health element sans the most severe cases, they're going to reform PIP with the Timms review.
The Tories and Reform can say "I'm going to cut welfare to save Zillions" and if they get into government real world consequences occur, legal ramifications and public opposition always pushes them to moderate or water down plans.
Get evidence, create some sort of a dairy of your disability, engage with medical professionals, keep visiting sites like this for support and do not go into despair. Nobody can palm off someone with evidence right in front of them, not even a PIP assessor, UC assessor, Reform, Tories or Labour.

Those with mild disabilities can hopefully be properly supported and helped into work. There is no use removing benefit entitlement, and expecting a miracle.

cutting all benefits will kill disabled people who can't work. that's just one of many inevitable consequences that people don't think about.
ironically, this is exactly the kind of ignorance and/or omission parties like Reform rely on because they know how upsetting this cold, hard reality is to most people. Hence, people like me have to spell this out regardless of who says it.

Yes and they won't even say how they intend to do that - only what they intend to do to the immigrants - ie) lock them up, after withdrawing UK from "Every international treaty that prevents this country from being able to secure its borders."
Their Policies DO NOT even mention "benefits" or "disability"

At least PIP should be safe - it's set in law as primary legislation and would take the house of lords to vote to change it - the standing government cannot decide to change it at a whim !

PIP is set in law - if you care to check - its treated differently than ESA / UC etc

We at the point now, almost all parties are targeting health benefits.
Tories and reform will probably reintroduce child cap on top of that.
The only party who wants to protect social security now is the Greens.
The real nasty thing about all this, is its being done at the same time as changes to the NHS, to make the NHS even worse e.g. the recent changes to referrals to make them even more rationed. I dont think this is coincidence, I expect there is a plan to require secondary care diagnosis, whilst at the same time making it harder to access secondary care.0 -

What wibbles has shared was issued in May 2024 and the next General Election will not be until 2029. A lot can change in five years.
Reform are not the only party who will be targeting benefits.
It is up to all the other parties to provide better charismatic leaders and policies that can connect with the people if they want to keep Reform out at the next general election.
They have three years to do this.
