Hi everyone,

My name is Callum and I’m the Glasgow-based founder of Find Nearby, a mobile app that helps people quickly find toilets, parking, benches, playparks, health locations and other useful places nearby.

I’ve recently made several key accessibility, family and health searches completely free with no ads, including accessible toilets, accessible parking, baby-changing toilets, parent & child parking, hospitals, GPs and defibrillators.

Find Nearby is a general-purpose “what’s near me?” app rather than a specialist access review service. It uses public map data, so the information can sometimes be incomplete or out of date. Users should always check critical details where possible.

I’m hoping to get feedback from people who may have relevant lived experience while I promote the app more widely.

Interested members are welcome to optionally download and try the app before replying, but this is not required. Feedback based only on the website or description is also very welcome.

    Good job you don't live in Poole Dorset a small Seaside town where there are no public toilets as the council made cuts & shut them all , we did at one stage have disabled toilets they were stainless steel but they went . It's a seaside town where the old people go to retire ,Then we have disabled people a lot of them including my self .

    It seems the council did deals with certain shops and charities so the public could use their loo,s .

    We get old & disabled tourists who ask where are the toilets .

    And remember when disabled parking was free ? No money in that for the councils nowadays it's pay up or get nicked .

    I remember looking at a visitor's book in a small museum in a Fife town. The latest entry was written In capitals - "NO TOILETS, WON'T BE BACK".

    What an absolute disgrace in this day and age.

    Here in Sheffield, there's almost no public Toilet facilities beyond ones in a few of the bigger shops and eateries such as McDonald's and various pubs, most of the Council run ones are so unhygienic most people go out of their way to avoid them unless they're bursting for a wee or t'other end.

    Hi, thanks for putting together this app and it does sound really helpful. I think it’s a really good idea and I think using the word accessible is good, it feels kind. Think you’ve covered many helpful categories including defibrillator
