Hi @Katycmrs and a warm welcome to the community from me!
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling, the summer holidays can be really challenging for both parents and children!
What do you think your daughter is struggling with the most right now? If you can share a bit about what she's finding tough, we can talk through some potential reasons behind it and figure out some strategies. This will hopefully make the holidays a bit easier and make you feel less overwhelmed.
There is also some useful information on about parent wellbeing during the summer holidays with some helpful links for further emotional support that may be helpful to explore as well😊0 -
Good afternoon, and thank you for sharing this. It sounds like you’re already feeling exhausted, and it’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed when the usual school routine changes during the holidays.
Summer breaks can be particularly challenging for children with ADHD and autism because the change in structure, routine, and expectations can feel unsettling. Sometimes small things like having a visual schedule, planning a few predictable activities, and building in quiet time can help make the days feel more manageable.
Please remember to look after yourself too. Supporting a child with additional needs can be incredibly demanding, and needing help or feeling overwhelmed does not mean you are doing anything wrong.
You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. Hopefully other parents can share what has worked for them. Sending you support for the weeks ahead take it one day at a time.
