Good morning one and all. Start of another very warm day. We are gunna hit 30C this afternoon and tomorrow 33c. If you are down in London or the South you'll hit 36 or 37C tomorrow. It's a couple of stay indoors days and just chill and drink plenty fluids. have a good day everyone and take care if you have to venture out. Tonight is the Eclipse. I'm hoping my specs arrive today. If not I won't get to see it only the darkness that will descend outdoors. It's not as if I haven't seen an eclipse before lol.

Waiting in for a carpet fitter who was due at 9am.
When I rang to say he hadn't turned up, apparently the mutually agreed appointment time has been changed to this afternoon without having consulted me.
Its hugely inconvenient.
On a more positive note I had my hair highlighted blonde yesterday and I'm really pleased with the result.
I went out and sat overlooking the sea in the sunshine.

Hi Holly, the top photo is the walker that I have ordered, there is like a small step behind each of the rear wheels which if you push down on it and the handles it will aid you getting up curbs alongside onto a buz as well. Add 12 inch front wheels as well which make the job easier as well.

Hopefully there giving around the 22nd of August. ๐ค Thankfully from watching the video of assembling the walker, it is relatively simple plug and play. One Walker you screwed in a bolt on both sides to anchor it together and locked with catches which folded up like a pram and another was all thumb screws all of which I said nope to.
The VAT & Import is something new to me, I have had to send a message to the makers of the walker to make sure there sipping department and commercial Invoice are clearly marked with - โGoods For Disabled People : Relief Claimed?โ
I am going to have to right the experts up on how to do this as the import fee alone is ยฃ500 -
I recommend the ByAcre Overland, but it isn't cheap. I am on wheels now outdoors, but I am keeping it anyway.
I only use an indoor one now, the Uniscan Tall Freeway, it's UK made too. The brakes are excellent, just leaning activates them.

I looked into the BYAcre and was like ok you just purchase the frame, wheels and handles, everything else is extra which shocked me when you add it up.
I have gone for a company called MaxWalk Terrain style model that looks solid in build and offers a lot of features for my workable budget.

That's not too long to wait and it's great that it's simple to set up. You might have already seen this but here's the guide to claiming your import tax and VAT Hopefully the suppliers will be aware of the process and put the necessary information on the label. It's good that you've messaged them about it already.

I managed to get my trip to the theatre adjusted so as I have level access to where I would need to be sat, alongside when I watch Deep Purple and Mammoth VH in November. Also moved my Turkey trip back to April 2028 at the latest, may move it to five months past that. Just need the time to get through the medical appointments and op I am waiting for to hopefully at some point starting Psychological Therapy with the local CMHT.
I have picked up some Loop McLaren earplugs that will help me navigate busy places, feel more comfortable in crowded places and ease my anxiety. These will supplement the Loop Earplugs I have bought for live theatre and concerts.

Another warm day ahead here. It's aready 28C. will be 32C by 4pm. Phew that's hot. Bit of drama this morning. I heard some screaming and didn't think anything about it. I just assumed it was kids bored out of their heads with long holidays. Anyway I heard the noise of a Helicopter and rushed to the window. Even though I couldn't see it the trees were going wild so I put my shoes on and went out to see what was going on. Air Ambulance landed in football field. Asked someone who was stood there and they said a young lass had been stabbed. Next street was full of police cordoned it off. Helicopter still here so must be serious. I hope she's ok the young lass. Nothing like a bit of drama at breakfast time. I dare say we'll find out later in the local rag. Must be serious for the helicopter to attend.

That's terrible @Johnboy412000, hope she's okay and they found out what happened to her. We had a murder in the next town over from me last week which was gang related with men in the 50s/60s! Scary!!3 -
You know your having one of those days, when it is one of those days ๐ฌ
Shopping, Gas Safety Check and Parcel Delivery all within the same time frame.
Then went to put some rubbish out and noticed the door handle was stiff and notch both opening and closing the door. Squirted some WD40 in and it seemed to do the trick. But I have just gone to let the gas man out and the door is saying nope to me. I can lock it from the outside, but not the inside now ๐คฌ now on hold with the council to see about getting someone to look at it. Thing is when I looked at the door catch there was a small amount of surface rust to it, but it is a virtually a brand new door.
Also got to wait for my medication to be delivered as well at some point.
Now got to wait for a repair for the door between now and 9pm and tomorrow from 8am to 12pm. If they are not here by 9pm there is no way I will be able to sleep knowing the front door is unlocked.
Other than that it is a hot, sticky, humid and horrible day to say the least.

@Mary_Scope as yet we don't know much but the local paper says it was a woman. The Helicopter lifted off around 1.5 hours after arriving. I dunno if the woman was in it or not. Just hoping she's ok. Kinda scary stuff you don't expect it in your own neighbourhood.

Sounds like a busy day @Rag_793! Sorry your door isn't cooperating. I hope they come today, I wouldn't want leave my door unlocked either. I wonder if you have something that you could wedge the door shut with if needs be?

the problem is my front door opens outwards due to my stairlift, which makes the entrance more vulnerable if left unlocked.
