Here’s an update on my pip claim. It’s been 36 weeks today and I received a call from a healthcare professional this morning who said she would be writing a report based on my paperwork and that I don’t need a telephone assessment but she needed some more information. It was a 20 minute call and she asked me a few questions and she was very nice to talk to. Fingers crossed it doesn’t take much longer but I’m expecting it will take up to 8 more weeks based on what I have read. Everyone who is still waiting I hope you here something soon.
Hi @fonz abit of a random question lol.. did they ring of a private/ witheld number...  i keep getting the tax scam calls so ive give up answering the phone lol. Good luck with your claim

Having started this thread i get updates and am appalled at how long everyone is waiting.  I hope Scope will collate the entries and present them as leverage to the relevant government departments.  My own experience has certainly opened my eyes - pip took over 2 months to even send the form to fill in and then 5 months to grant the money, continuing care assessment now 8 months late after a positive checklist, government pension 6 months to reply and still no payment. Local Authority no replies to 5 letters.  Letters to 3 different MPs and only one reply.  Letter to minister responsible -no reply. Muck up with tax code and yet more hassle.   It is all rather shaming as I used to think Britain had a fair and efficient social care policy. My experience and that of many others in this group makes one wonder how anything at all gets done.  Shambolic is my experience.  As a POA I am a step removed from the complete frustration and despair you all must be feeling.as you wait and wait.  My brother thinks the responsible staff are all working from home but watching Netflix having ‘doctored’ their tech to register they are active.  He heard a child ask mummy when she was getting up on one of his calls to social care.

Congrats to Tanya and hope she enjoys her new washing machine!

I put my new claim in on 4th dec last year and it took 6 mths to get a phone assessment. I’m in the 2nd week of the 8 week waiting period for the decision! So could be up to 8 months from start to finish for me. Insane!

While speaking to a pip adviser recently he told me that staff had been sent to Universal credit and they were the priority for new staff due to the massive increase in new claims. Added to this is a shortage of HP’s due to a lot returning to the NHS due to Covid-19. So while I understand the reasons behind the delays it seems once again the needs of those of us with disabilities is once again pushed to the back of the line. Not right or fair

Totally agree Bart, but what annoys me most is that self employed and companies got Covid handouts with little checking but those on reduced income/ no income requiring universal credit have to go through the same extensive hoops as pre Covid and the same for pip assessment.  My friend is so severely affected by his stroke it was absolutely obvious he would get pip but still a huge delay.  This is called the hidden cost of Covid but it seems to me that the vulnerable and financially poor are paying the cost even more so than they usually do and some of those on furlough had a lovely paid for rest in the garden, got a few diy jobs done and enjoyed a bit of quality time with their families.
    Rant over.

Bart, hope the decision positive after all this time and you get a lovely chunk of back payment plopping into your account soon.

    Best wishes

Your right and thank you. Fingers crossed they will go with the HP report and it will be sorted in a few weeks. But with how it’s been so far I won’t be holding my breath.

I have a question could anyone help me please.

So on my decision letter it says the amount I was paid was from the 17th November to the 19th of may.

It then says I will be paid every 4 weeks on a Thursday so will that be 4 weeks from the 19th of may?

    Thank you

@Sammiecat75 I’m so sorry to hear that your waiting so long. When my partner kept ringing up all they kept saying to me was the same but I didn’t end up having to have a face to face or telephone assessment just a paper based one.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss I hope things get sorted for you soon x

@Sammiecat75 this could be a long shot but did you put a claim in for for new style esa? If you were working full time for more than 3 years you might be surprised to find you can claim it. You will lose the amount from your UC pound for pound but UC can’t take anything off it so you get the full amount of NS esa. Also if UC did a work related assessment on your, esa use that rather than a new assessment so it’s fairly quick.

Don’t give up on your pip. You will get it all back dated to the day you put in your claim. I applied December 4th last year and only had my assessment 2 weeks ago! Don’t give up hope there are ways
