For me it's the waiting with no updates. Then a different story each time you call. I was initially told 10 -12 weeks then 16 weeks then 6 months then over 6 months and the other day I was told probably wouldn't hear anything before January/ February! All my paperwork and evidence was logged onto system 18th June '23.
No fore thought to lay on extra staff to clear the initial influx. No thought to digitise so we can check online at our progress or lack of or any other evidence needed.
There is an added mental stress waiting and wondering and panicking they are going to decide you are OK even though you know you aren't.
It surely doesn't need to be this difficult??
I applied 25th April and received award letter Saturday. I was also told January/February.  I think they don't want people phoning them constantly so use this excuse, but it's our right to have some idea what stage our application is at. There is an online chat that tells you information about your claim. It's quicker than sitting on a phone for lengthy periods

Well I guess if they are processing applications from end of April I am hopefully within the home stretch. A month or 3 of it anyways!

Nikkibee86  I can't believe you're still waiting to hear. Is there a complaints department to contact? Not that it would make any difference but mucking you around like this is unacceptable.  Wonder how many people don't apply for this exact reason ie the waiting times and the fobbing off . I think you have been accepted as if it was a no they'd tell you that quite quickly.

I don't think anyone can predict what any decision could be. The length of time a decision takes is no indication of what the decision is likely to be.

@vonny_23 my mums partner applied end of July and was declined. He had a stroke last year and can’t return to work now because of it. Shocking

Well was told today that my outcome letter was sent out yesterday, now that’s the major anxiety kicked in. No back payment so not looking good. Also my mums partner was declined on Friday after having a stroke at 53 and now can’t return to his high paid job
     absolutely ridiculous

Didn't you ask them on the phone what the outcome was? They will tell you

If the decision was only made yesterday then I wouldn’t expect you to receive any money owed yet, if there is an award. If they pay by BACS payment then it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank from the date payment is made.

Your mums partner will be able to challenge that decision, although ADP isn’t about your ability to work.

    Hi did anyone hear back

Sorry this is long and it is posted elsewhere, but if you have been waiting for a long time to get an answer from ADP it really could help you.  I have all of the following officially confirmed in writing from a member of the customer service staff from Social Security Scotland (ADP).

It's been suggested to me by an ADP chat operator that the following could be a system wide problem for certain claimants claiming ADP.    I have it officially and in writing from them that they know of two cases of the following (mine and another person) but also that there could be any number of other people’s claims being affected by this. As far as I can tell they are not contacting anyone to let them know.  I assume they will be blaming the back log.  I only found out because I contacted them and was persistent. I think this may be a scandal about to break

So...I sent in my application to change from PIP to Adult Disability Payment at the beginning of April 2023, when they asked me to do so.  My PIP award ran out in June 2023.   I’ve contacted them a couple of times for an update and I know from their chat op (so it's in writing) that the first time my switch over claim form was looked at was on or around the 23rd of October, that’s around 7 months waiting time.

But......Apparently there is an IT issue with my profile which means that they cannot download my information to assess my claim. There is also an issue with downloading my information from the DWP.  They have all of the information they need from me, they've had it since April 2023, they just can't download it because their IT system is broken.  My claim cannot be assessed until they fix their IT.  I have this in writing.

They won’t let me re-upload the claim form for, what they say are, legal reasons and they won’t let me post it to them via snail mail either. Apparently if I sent it in the post the people in the mail room would just scan it and upload it to my broken profile 🤯???  Yes, they actually said this to me.

The current wait time to speak to a case manager is 7 days, but I've been told even they can’t help me at all until their IT support fix the system issue.  I have this in writing from them also.   Apparently the call will just be to see what [temporary] resolution they can offer me. I don’t know if they meant financially or just platitudes.   I was told by a member of staff that my case manager would call today and they even asked me to book a time with them.   They didn't call.    I've now been told by another member of staff that I was lied to and they do not take call bookings for case managers as they are so busy, so the case manager was never going to call me.  Thank you for wasting my morning, Social Security Scotland.

So my life is on hold until they fix their computers. I don't know if they will let me keep my award once assessed, so I could at any time lose this income and, as a result of this, my home.

Remember......they are not contacting anyone to let them know.

I know I keep saying that I have things in writing, but I want to be sure that I do not face reprisals because I have spoken out.  I experienced terrible issues when originally applying for PIP.....I mean....horrific......so much so that I received two substantial, financial compensation payments in respect of their treatment of me.  Again, all verifiable just in case official people skim the forums.  Paranoid....me?......😨 Under the circumstances, you bet I am.

If you are still waiting for an answer, call them up and check your account isn't one that is affected. We’re going to submit a freedom of information request to see how many people are being affected by this (I urge you to do the same) and I am definitely going to look at legal advice as it's making my disability worse.  It feels in some way discriminatory that -amongst the around 93,000 successful applicants so far- that myself and -apparently- 1 other person are currently in limbo because Social Security Scotland's computers are broken.

    Thank you for reading this.

    Ellie.

Called this morning  4th Dec. Still in a queue!!
    Anyone else hears?
    6 months and counting...
Apparently could be 'several more' to just wait patiently.
Easy to say when you aren't worried that it will taken away or it's actually lost or something.

Hi, I applied for Adult Disability Payment in September of last year, and apart from a short identity check via video call, have heard nothing in regards to my application. The website says it should be 8-10 weeks for a decision to be reached, but as this is a new service I understand that there will be many applications and subsequently longer wait times. As of January 2023 it’s been 16 weeks since my application; should I chase this up with them or should I wait until the 20 week mark, as this seemed to be the average for the PIP service (from what I’ve read,) ?
Yeah, I applied at end of May, they received the form in June. Not heard anything yet, except a letter to confirm they can contact a different health professional. That was around 3month ago, nothing since then. All you can do is wait. They give sane excuses to everyone if you call asking. ( trying to gather GP evidence). I've changed GP and hardly seen the new one.

    Hello lovely people.
Firstly have a very merry magical Christmas.
Secondly has anyone heard about their claim yet?

I finally got told yesterday that my claim is now with a decision maker as of this week. No timescale could be weeks or more lol! Come January 12th it will be a year since I put my change of circumstances form into pip actioning my transfer to adp. And I am now past my 6 month date of everything being logged on and being put in the adp queue.
Convinced I will be rejected any uprate due to back dated payments lol.
Fingers crossed for all waiting for a speedy good result 🙏👍

Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎅 Sorry to hear you're still in this situation . 🙏 you hear something soon and that you get the response you deserve 😌 So unfair that they are putting people through this for such a long period of time

    Hello all!
    Happy New Year!
I hope 2024 brings everyone good fortune.

Ok so I was told before Christmas my claim was with a decision maker. Turns out that was a mistake.  I am still in a queue.  Its now over 6 months since my case was logged onto the adp system and a year since I put my change of circumstances into pip.
I was informed yesterday that there is such a huge amount of cases it is taking well over 6 months to process and to be patient...😆 😂 😆
Anyone else get logged in June and still waiting?

Oh what a pain for you @minimeemaw getting your hopes up like that.  I really hope that they do get to your case quickly.
