Hi my dad has acalasia type 3 and struggling with his diagnosis. He is 74 and used to go out all the time he is a shell of his former self. Is anyone else had any experience with this.

Hi there @Ejames78_18 sorry to read about your dad's condition and not being himself. Does his gp or specialists have methods to ease these symptoms.

His GP has meds but nothing seems to help him atm he is so depressed

Hi @Ejames78_18, welcome to our community. Have you looked into what the local authority can provide around any care needs or adjustments to help him with getting about? Maybe getting out a bit more too?
It's difficult coming to terms with a diagnosis, many of us here have had to go through it and everyone has a different journey with it.
