How Does our Garden Grow?

Thank you Sandy. That's a lacecap Hydrangea and I love it. It was here when I moved in but much smaller. I pruned it after the frosts had gone and left it where it was. I didn't expect it to grow so big and it's now too big for where it is. After the growing season I will move it.

Its beautiful I might buy one of those for next year, do you know if it comes back year after year?

Thank you. Yes, it comes back every year. They need a lot of water too. They prefer a mixture of sun and shade. There's quite a few different varieties of Hydrangeas. You can put them in a pot as well, if you don't want them to get too big. I'll take some close up pictures on the next sunny day and post them so you can see. It's even more beautiful close up.
My neighbour told me that this one is several years old. I must admit I'm rather scared to move it incase something happens lol. My son is a landscape gardener so will ask his advice before moving it.

My next door neighbour can never remember what they're called,he always refers to them as 'old people's plants'.๐

He's no spring chicken himself.

Maybe he doesn't consider himself as an older person. I never even knew there was such a thing as a plant for an older person. ๐ค

He says that when he was a child the only people who had them in their gardens seemed to be elderly;it's probably a combination of that and him not being interested in what they're actually called.
