I won my tribunal. How long does it take to get backdated pay? Will I get normal payments still?

same as me I’m on week 83 now it’s abhorrent the way I’ve been treated. All my life until two years ago I was a working full time man paying obscene amounts of tax some months. Then when I needed the help they tried cheating me out of it.
Thanks for the info though. I can’t wait to have a Chinese I haven’t had one in about 2 years I reckon lol

It's unfortunately a story I hear a lot in this job, which is why I'm trying to help as many people as possible now! I remember the wait for the money to actually drop, but hold on in there, it's nearly time!

Will you let us know when you receive it please? Just so we can all raise a cup of tea to your victory. 😊

    Good morning!

This morning at 0801 I received this text message -

“We have awarded you PIP. We have sent you a decision letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to receive this. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.”

Can you or anyone confirm that this is normally when the payment is submitted?

    I hope so!

    thanks!

Yes payment is usually made at the same time. You can ring them to ask if it's been sent and when to expect it into your bank and they will tell you.

Thanks Poppy. I thought this might be the case.

I’ll give them a call this afternoon.

    Thanks for answering so quick

No problem. Just to add more information. I would have expected that decision to have been made over the weekend, with the text automatically being generated this morning. I would expect your money to arrive by the end of the week as usually it's 3-5 working days.

Well the decision was made through HMCTS at the appearance I made. I had just been chasing them ever since to push it through.

I think the key thing for future people to be aware of is the money will come as quick as you chase it. I chased it two days after the hearing and every two days after.

Yes I know that but a decision maker from DWP still has to put that award into payment and once this is done a decision/award letter is automatically generated.

    Oh I see, my mistake!

well I spoke to them at 0900 and they said my back payment of £10680 will be in by Thursday and my normal payment is the 27th!

By the time Thursday comes around it will be 2 weeks and 6 days since my court appearance. Not bad going!
