please don't turn this thread into another EastEnders omnibus (for a third time) if people don't get on use the ignore feature please.
I've tried keep up loads of useful information and won't be happy it it gets closed.
Many people are leaving and tbh from everything I've seen last fortnight I'm not surprised, unless it's abusive everyone should be able to be themselves and speak their worries without feeling the need to leave the forum or be spoken to like they have an IQ of 8.
as I said earlier in the thread when Albus sorted it out it's getting me down (and probably many others too.
We had another two ding dongs on other thresds yesterday.
anyway back on topic.....

I do not believe anything much written in the media regarding benefits and what they think of claimants but the fact is that since Sunak suggested the ridiculous pip voucher scheme that has been the most benefit focus under threat and Labour have said nothing to quell peoples fears.
Regarding the WCA I was reassessed for that and I remained in the support group.
I never ever had any problem claiming ,esa but pip always fabricated things I said at assessments and I had my award cut down and I had to go to MR so actually I am extremely anxious about the future of pip and any potential changes to my eligibility to claim or receive it, but as I said I cannot and I will not ever work again.
I am far too unwell to engage with a work coach let alone contemplate doing a paid job and therefor if the worst happens I will have no choice but to live off my retirement savings and that will mean I will be destitute in my old age.

I hear that as I said yesterday depending on today if there's anymore ramping up of this work coach interaction I won't be claiming UC for the same reasons.
but either way I certainly won't be worrying about any of it, Halloween is ny favourite day of the year tomorrow and grotbags isn't ruining that for me.

yes esa support, thanks it's ok I'm aware of a three month deadline and that when it pases that's it. I would rather just be left alone tbh, I'm not an MP so I'm not obsessed by money and I've seen so much and been through so much I'd survive without it (just)

The steamroller of destruction has been running for a long time and cannot be stopped quickly. How many years have they accelerated so much and will slow down IF of course they want to.

The problem with the rhetoric in the media, generally, is that there are a lot of people with disabilities struggling to interpret what's being said. This govt may well do better than the last, but they haven't empathised with the destruction of the last 14 years and how many of us are living with DWP-associated trauma as well as our actual disabilities.
I don't know how it is for NT claimants, but for ND claimants, who tend to read detail into every single word said and not said, this kind of suspense is actually a form of torture. It's not that I think, necessarily, the ministers are intending it that way…they keep saying they want to put disabled people front and centre. BUT that also means listening to us now and understanding how we're feeling ahead of any changes.
If we are involved in this, then tell us what your plans are and talk to us about them. Let us review them. Scope and other organisations are great, but they are still a middle-stage between govt and those of us with lived experiences. It's still a way of avoiding direct engagement.
It seems like whenever a disabled person tries to raise that with an MP or department or minister, the response is a copy-paste of policy rather than an attempt to really listen to what's going on. And no matter what we say, nobody is really trying to fix the DWP, who are the ones with the power and influence in the decisions…and they seem to be only answerable to themselves. I find this sad :(1 -
They've been in cahoots for those 14 years. I haven't stopped talking about it for the last 10.

it frees you up to use your energies in ways to better yourself. Distracting oneself with social media is always self limiting
MissMel, I agree. Just sad for the rest of us who REALLY did appreciate your posts. Nobody should feel unvalued on the forum.
