Why do we keep needing to be moved onto another "new system" isn't this the reason why it's costly and time consuming?
They are migrating the IR six legacy benefit claimants onto UC. Then they plan to move those with LCWRA onto something else, even though we are being moved to make things easier 🤷
By 2029 won't we have had an election?

This is what I was first led to believe.
But raising the amount people on CA can earn will make no difference to most Carers as they are also on Universal Credit and so cannot even earn a £ before money starts to be taken from the benefit.
And I firmly believe they knew this.1 -
Wow, are you sure those numbers don’t include state pension DLA recipients? Sounds far higher than I imagined. Do you have a link for the data if you don’t mind? Thanks!

the BBC have a good podcast. It is called “The Today Podcast”. On 31 October Nick Robinson interviewed Rachel Reeves about her budget and this was followed by an analysis by Nick and his co-host Amos Rajan. It is available on BBC Sounds. I hope this helps to explain a bit about the budget and to allay some fears.

By new legislation and a new benefit. Once upon a time I received DLA for life....
2 -
I also received DLA for life, they did away with that, so they can change it as Zipz has said.

as regards the BBC podcast, I wanted people to get an idea of where the government is heading, in general. I agree with Andi66 that speculation about what may be is heightening worry levels and worry makes us feel worse. I believe that with this government there is hope that things will get better. I believe we need to carry on and deal together with anything that comes our way. Not all carers are on Universal Credit. My carer is my 23 year old grandson who also works full time as a Teaching Assistant with children who have special needs. I bet you could also tell us stories of your wonderful carers. Let’s bring some positivity about what is happening NOW and not worry about what may never happen. I was carer to my mum for 10 years giving up a good job to look after her full time. We managed on her pension and my carer’s allowance plus Children’s Tax Allowance for my grandson whom I brought up from birth. We never went without anything we needed and, as you can see, my grandson grew into a wonderful caring adult. I think we need to have hope for a brighter future and a better chance of improvement in our lives with a change of government.

I used to be my mums carer until 2017. When she suddenly passed away from a stroke in hospital. So I know this is hard to not to worry until we have some sort of concrete evidence of what they are doing. They seem to go back on what they say. Especially if they get people and charities like scope to defend us .
