I also received DLA for life, they did away with that, so they can change it as Zipz has said.

as regards the BBC podcast, I wanted people to get an idea of where the government is heading, in general. I agree with Andi66 that speculation about what may be is heightening worry levels and worry makes us feel worse. I believe that with this government there is hope that things will get better. I believe we need to carry on and deal together with anything that comes our way. Not all carers are on Universal Credit. My carer is my 23 year old grandson who also works full time as a Teaching Assistant with children who have special needs. I bet you could also tell us stories of your wonderful carers. Let’s bring some positivity about what is happening NOW and not worry about what may never happen. I was carer to my mum for 10 years giving up a good job to look after her full time. We managed on her pension and my carer’s allowance plus Children’s Tax Allowance for my grandson whom I brought up from birth. We never went without anything we needed and, as you can see, my grandson grew into a wonderful caring adult. I think we need to have hope for a brighter future and a better chance of improvement in our lives with a change of government.

I used to be my mums carer until 2017. When she suddenly passed away from a stroke in hospital. So I know this is hard to not to worry until we have some sort of concrete evidence of what they are doing. They seem to go back on what they say. Especially if they get people and charities like scope to defend us .

Governments have taken advantage of your hardships for decades and forced your family into low-paid jobs for generations - is that okay? No. This is the dark Middle Ages in modern packaging. It's horrible. This should not be the case in the 21st century. Disability is not a reason to drive a person into poverty. No matter what government, the course towards reducing assistance to the disabled is clearly visible from year to year.

A ‘tax and spend’ budget? Not for disabled people. For us, austerity lives on.

This was me, too. I had an indefinite DLA award, I applied for PIP when they told me to, did everything I was instructed to do, sent them lots of evidence, and they forced me to go to appeal. :/ Unfortunately changes to benefits come when the people administering the benefits decide.

Knowing that there are still many on DLA, I've always wondered if my case was shifted over at the time it was because it was right after the govt tried to tighten up on invisible disability criteria. It may have been coincidence, but there must have been a reason they tried to write up my whole case as anxiety rather than acknowledging the impact of my autism on my life.

Both the Tories and Reform UK want us out of ECHR anyway.

I wish I had a lib MP. I have the same Tory we've had for years, albeit with a reduced majority.

I think he was the architect of that scheme to replace PIP cash payments with vouchers.

    Horrible man.
