New government, same old corruption. I worry about people getting conned by the likes of Reform in future elections, it's deeply worrying.

Does anyone know if there were any changes laid out about social housing rent rises? A few weeks ago Reeves was proposing allowing social housing providers to raise their rents faster than they've been allowed to previously.

I wrote to my MP about it because I pointed out that faster rent rises would erode transitional protection much faster, but I never got a reply from him.

Was it buried anywhere in the text do we know?

Yes, she's gone ahead with allowing social housing providers to raise their rents at a higher rate.

Surely there must be a disability charity etc who can fight this for us. To take it to the ECHR , like the migrant who applied to stay was granted by them even though he had a criminal record and was deported twice., so if a individual can do this surely it a chairity or something can do it for us , This worry is so draining. It been like this since last year. To make also UC simple to change , or scrap it altogether and go back to the old ones which I I'm still on. My mental health is shot , which makes my physical health worse.

My council put the rent up yearly anyway, it went up by something like £8 last year.

There are a lot of charities that are constantly doing things on our behalf, Mind, Scope, Disability Rights UK and so on.

Hi..its worse that that she said they would proceed with the changes proposed by Sunak to the WCA..so by allying g with him or blaming him I would sayshes neatly avoided any discussion in consultation...the proposals she has adopted are for new claimants or if someone is reassessed..the aim is to pretty much stop this benefit of up to 400 a month by changing the assessment criteria. Sunak proposed and she's dunning with removing various crucial categories..so anyone who cites mobility issues in living the house

.that's not allowed...None who thinks a job might cause a danger to them...that's not allowed and anyone with continence issues and more generally WCA will generally not be awarded except in exceptional circumstances...they are pigs for targeting sick leople

She hasn’t confirmed what’s going to happen yet she’s just ‘sticking to the projected savings’ laid out by Sunak. I hope to go she doesn’t go ahead with those reforms as I would be one of those that would lose out, I can barely make ends meet anyway if I lose that £400 I’ll be destitute, if people want to work then they should have support to do so - and I’m praying and hoping that’s what they’ll do - helping people voluntarily as anything more will be disastrous. We’ll know more when the white paper comes out which is apparently next year

Oh I thought she said they had taken up the proposals themselves which are to apply to new applicants or existing reassessments( ie don't report changes or they will reassess and cancel you)..which are people with mobility, continence or who feels a prospective danger will be posed to them.in doing g a job...tI believe, but may be wrong they had implemented this...its what she said that she had adopted them..you may be right that it requires a white paper

I am surprised people still are.

Perhaps they changed those over who would likely lose money, but maybe they are not changing you as you would actually cost them more. (the cynic in me)

Isn't that the whole point though? It's designed to be eroded, so it vanishes and puts everyone on the same playing field financially if you are Income Related.

Its ONLY income related people that are the target for yet more cuts?

Is the continence descriptor being changed?? I thought that was going to remain? We'll won't know the nitty gritty until next year.

Thank you for your answer. I am sure I'm in support group as I've never needed a fit note from my gp. I watched Sunaks response to the budget, made mi sick his words what a hideous person. Regards

I see sickness benefit is in the media costing £100bn by 2030. They focusing on mental health and if people really have it. The trouble is I hope the government don't jump on the band wagon and start cutting it

I believe their focus is more proactive than reactive. So they're wanting to stop people from suffering from avoidable mental health issues in the first place. Which would stop people being off sick long term.

Where can you find the information about which descriptors are being altered?
