The practice manager has just called and asked me to come in so hopefully I can get some sort of help because regardless of the pip situation it's not healthy living life like this anymore.

I have had a very weird day.The Dr's receptionist called back at 1pm to ask me if I wanted to go back in and speak with a senior Dr and also to the Pip advisor. But I couldn't go back again as I had my son with me so have arranged for the 6th January when he goes back to school.I have posted off the MandatoryReconsideration letter recordeddelivery and signed for so that will get there Tommorrow ( I had already done this before the dr call). Then I took my son to the cinema where my card was declined and thenmy second and only other card has a problem with the pin.So basically I have no money accessable for the next 5 days till new cards are sent out.I found page 2 of the report which I pulled out from the side of the kitchen drawer and as I yanked it out it fell on my foot!.( perhaps I can add that now to my pip!..I am joking of course).I felt really old today seeing this lovely young gp in her early twenties.I am in my fiftys now and as I said to her my emotional state today is not a representation of who I am.I dont know if thats normalto judge yourself?.I find myself doing it all the time

Hi @Jane315STARX My heart goes out too you. You are having such a difficult time at the moment and getting your PIP declined at the first try seems to have brought everything to a head. I hope you foot is not to badly hurt try and rest it.

Try and think of the positive things you have done today. You have sent your MR to DWP, you have been to see the doctor and are going to get some help. You also have another appointment for the 6 January.

Caring for your son on your own with no family to help must be very hard for you.

Are you able to manage without any access to your money for the next five days?

Do not be so hard on yourself no one is judging you and I hope the counselling will help you.

I am glad you think the forum is a safe place and you are able to talk to us about how you are feeling. I hope this helps just a little bit.

Try and be kind to yourself, you are doing the best you can.

    Take care.

Thank you so much.I do feel so much better than yesterday.I think although I was expecting a decline because I didn't receive a text.I wasn't prepared for reading the report and how parts were so untrue and completely unrelated to me.I am now at this moment anyway in a more positive mind set. What is awful is that I am just one person to think how many people this happens to and find it like this.I thought the stories I'd read were fabricated especially as my assessor genuinely seemed very nice.Which only adds to the complete betrayal. But thank you again for being here and taking the time to write x

Will it be a different assessor that looks at my mandatory reconsideration?

I always bring someone with me to both hospital appointments and these type of appointments. Not only to back me up but also some of the staff have been really unhelpful and not assisted me in putting my shoes back on etc. In my last full report I was marked down because I was wearing make up. I’ve also had male nhs registrars not let me leave until I’d agreed that their procedure had worked, even though later a specialist hospital noted I had damaged joints. Also had a work occupational doctor tell me that chronic back pain is all in my head and that I’m psychological damaging my child, fortunately the specialist hospital (RNOH) again came to the rescue and assured me that the trauma on my spine (scoliosis, exploded vertebrae, bertolotti syndrome and several rods and fusions) would cause back pain for majority of people. So don’t go alone! Strangely when someone is with you it doesn’t seem to happen - odd that!

It won't be an assessor, it'll be a different DWP Decision Maker, so not the one who made the original decision.

@kimmy87 and can they listen ( if there was a recording of my assessment) to the truth of what I actually said.I made a note in my letter that even if the decision is not overturned this is absolutely outrageous and needs to be looked into because of how it's made me feel

Unless you asked for the assessment to be recorded, no recording will exist.

You are free to lodge a complaint with the assessment provider about the assessor.

As I said before MR have a very low success rate, so you should be prepared to have to go to an independent appeal tribunal.

Help is out there to support you with that process
