Because thanks to reeves autumn budget ,the economy isn't growing. So she's either putting up taxes again or cutting costs. She's blaming the fictional black hole. If they stop funding wasteful projects like milliband daft ideas. Paying train drivers who on huge wage as it is. We wouldn't be in this mess.

I think this only confirms everything else we've already read. Its just very good use of language in a very political and flowery way.To be forewarned is to be forearmed isn't that what they say?.It's horrendous

The website The Canary has done an analysis that sections of the MSM have been targeting those who are out of work due to ill mental health, I should add that the Canary is to the Left politically and makes no bones about it but I'm more interested in the subject matter of the article.

It's not just about depression and anxiety, it's a wholesale downplaying of mental illness within certain sections of the Media and Political parties including sections of Labour, Reform and the Tories which not only places the individual with a mental illness in harms way but could potentially place the wider public in danger.

Do you not agree with us transitioning to a green economy? If I may say so, labelling people sounds very Trumpian.

There is more than a whiff of conspiracy theory emanating from this thread.

I apologise if I was out of order, I could have expressed myself better, on reflection.

In future I shall try to offer a counter narrative in a more constructive manner.

I don't watch much telly, but unfortunately, the little I have viewed, it tends to paint an unsympathetic picture about social security.

Thanks for the welcome. This sort of site is new to me, so I imagine the novelty will wear off.

You don't know me , so don't you dare say that. I know the environment needs attending I support doing it .in a practical way for this country. We don't get a lot of sun, so solar panels across farm land not helping. Planting trees would help. So get off your high horse. We have worries about pip cuts and I just mentioned where I thought it could be saved.

I have them on my rented property, but don't see what savings if any as it all goes to the housing association

Well I watched the Chief Secretary to the Treasurey ( I think his name was Darren Jones) just speak.Basically again it only confirms what they are going to do ( reading between the lines). If you read snippets from everywhere Rachel Reeves seems to have taken ideas from the Conservatives,New Zealand, just about everywhere!.They are extremely clever in that I think they may even word it in their green paper that working may be 'Voluntary' amongst vulnerable groups so as to seem they have 'listened' and taken on board the thoughts and feelings of the countries community affected by mental health ( which it seems they are targeting or trying to reach back into work).I think there will be some kind monetary sanction by not complying to 'commitments' as already they have left that door open on u.c system. But they will word it as 'Voluntary".The use of the mental health staff that they mentioned to 'help support' is a drive to save money forcing people too ill into work.I think it appears they will change the pip system definitely and that seems it's going down the physical disability met route as aposed to mental health.Obviouisly this is just what I think and I could be completely wrong

I think this is what’s missing - those that can and want to of course should be supported if they need accommodations etc, that’s fine. It’s such a worry to some of us here like me that want to - but know that they unfortunately can’t (from past experiences) by the way it’s nice to see you back again :)

@Nightcity him saying those who can and want to work is him giving a typical political answer.Suzanna Reed saw right through him fortunately. The government don't see that out of the £3 Billion cuts they will make in Benefits cuts the percentage in disabled people who can and want to work will be high surely?.Or they would have stepped forward. It will.be interesting actually if anyone on here who us disabled and would like to get back into work has an opinion on this?
