Citizens Advice’s Help to Claim Service are going to help me but I haven’t claimed yet @Catherine21, I’m going to in 3 weeks’ time in the week commencing Monday 3rd Feb. The day I do the claim in that week is Wednesday 5th Feb. I get the impression that you thought I have claimed already. I haven’t just yet. It’ll be next month, the first week in February.

Your post on this thread this morning Catherine / @Catherine21 was a reply to a post I did on 3rd January. I can understand if you got confused at first, if you thought that I have already put a claim in. I was going to claim this month but I changed my mind. The next best chance to claim will be that first week in February and I will be doing the claim. Not changing my mind again. I want to get this done. Once it’s done, it’s done. I’ll be on UC, better off and I won’t have to think about it again.

I get an ESA payment on Wednesday of this coming week (22nd Jan) so in theory I could even submit a claim in just a few days’ time but I still won’t be doing that.

Doing a claim next week wouldn’t be the best approach because during the 5 week wait, I would then have a 3 week gap without any money. 👎👎👎

Doing it in the first full week of February instead when a PIP payment and ESA payment fall into my bank on consecutive days (4th Feb, 5th Feb) means I’ll then avoid a 3 week gap without any money. ✅✅✅👍👍👍

It’s all about timing ⌚️📆📅 for me, the first week in the February is the best time to do it. ☑️☑️☑️👍👍👍

2 weeks without a payment is obviously better than 3 weeks. ✔️✔️✔️👍👍👍
04/02/2025, PIP payment, this is a Tuesday05/02/2025, ESA payment, this is a Wednesday, on this particular Wednesday in February this claim is being done
2 week gap ⬇️
19/02/2025, the very last payment from ESA, this is a Wednesday
⬇️ 2 week gap
04/03/2025, PIP payment for March, this is a Tuesday
⬇️ 1 week gap
11/03/2025, the first payment to land in my bank account from UC
^ no 3 gap in that timeline.
That’s why I have to do the claim at the start of February and not before.

The only thing that has come into my mind in the last 24 hours is the 2 week run on payment, the payment that’ll be the last one that you receive from ESA. It better land in my bank account as expected. 💳🏦🏧

I shouldn’t 🙅♂️❌ be having to give ESA a call (0800 169 0310) ☎️📞📱to tell them that I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been a final payment of £318.10 💷🪙 from them. ❌❌❌

The payment should be coming to me as planned ✅✔️☑️. I shouldn’t 🙅♂️🙅♀️🙅 be having to call them to chase the payment.

On that Wednesday 19th Feb, when I’d be expecting that last £318.10 ESA payment, I’d be using my bank’s telephone banking service to find out if I’ve received that payment. That should be shortly after midnight. 🕛

I don’t do online banking and that’s why I won’t even be doing my claim for UC online. I prefer to be more simple. ✅

That doesn’t mean that I’m not smart but I wouldn’t feel comfortable controlling my bank account in an app/in a browser . I’d be afraid of cancelling my Direct Debits. I’d be someone who wants to see what each button does 😂.

That’s the same with a benefits claim, I wouldn’t want to sign into an online account to deal with my UC. My claim for UC will be telephone based 📞☎️. My preference is to just be more simple, I do like the old-fashioned ways to some degree ✔️😂.
