Best of luck getting through the claim @DawnBiiwoo, remember we are here if you need support or aren't sure about something. Here is our migration to UC advice page as well:

HI, I have do e my UC migration claim today on line.... I put all info in journal as advised re esa support group and fit not not required and also about the section 19!! During me filling in all question it did state that I would NOT need a fit note but in my TO DO LIST it had a part to fill about what jobs I could do,so I just put NOT SURE on all that part... then for some reason it didn't except my ID info which I used my child tax credit info where it asks for how most recent payment was and my driving licence details.... it said could ID me so now says they will CALL ME.... 📞 🙄 😒 I don't have a clue what I did wrong on the ID part!!!

Also, nor WHY it asked me what work I'd be interested in when I'd already said I'm migrating over from ESA SG .....

Don’t worry about the ID part because that is easily confirmed through a phone call.
The questions about work are all standard questions and part of your claim. Once they have the information from ESA your claim will be updated. Please make sure you don’t provide a fit note.

OK thanks Poppy... I nearly had a panic attack.... don't know why it didn't except my ID info.
I did exactly as you had previously advised and told them I'm covered by section 19 of uc, and I DO NOT NEED to provide a FIT note as my esa support group moves over to uc where I should then get LCWRA etc. I also put I can send any photo of all my PIP, and Tax credits and ESA letter's and my ID e.g driving licence etc if required..... do you think that's OK? 🤔 thanks so much

I don't think you need to do anything more, it takes a few weeks for ESA to send your details to UC, this is quite normal and nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you 👍🙂

Hi,today I had uc phone call and they did my ID check all ok...I have just logged into my uc and on home page it says I said ny health affects or prevents me from working..and it says "you might have to have an assessment before we can consider if you will get extra money for this" but I won't have to have another assessment will I, as I have migrated from esa support...does it just say this because they need the info from ESA .....I won't need Another assessment will I ? 🫣😬

Another assessment isn't needed. You are correct in saying it says that because they haven't received information from ESA that you're in the Support Group. What is says is what it always says when claiming UC for the first time. Nothing to worry about.

OH my god, thank you so so much Poppy.... I got all worried all over again.... 😕 I can't tell you how grateful I am
Thank you. Kind regards ✨️

You're welcome. I know it's stressful due to fear of the unknown but everything will be fine. You just need to wait for ESA to send your details across, which can take a few weeks but often less than that.

Hope so, the sooner the better. Thank you once again Poppy your a star 🌟

HI, whilst I'm waiting for my first UC payment on 5th December, I will have LCWRA still as migrated from esa support....but, I just received a letter saying my housing benefit has been suspended, which I knew as I will have to pay the short fall of the 3 weeks myself .... but it also it says that my council tax reduction has been suspended!!... that will go back as normal when I get my first UC payment won't it?? And I won't have a short fall to pay to council tax as well will I? 🫣

Council Tax is outside the UC system, you'll need to contact the CT/benefits department of your local authority.
They'll probably need your UC award when first statement is available, to calculate your CTR entitlement.
Council Tax Reduction varies by area, each local authority has differing criteria as they set their own rules.
I have seen a few instances where local authorities seem to treat UC and legacy benefits differently, and people ending up needing to pay a bit more. Most stay the same.
Because each area sets CTR rules, we can't really advise further here.

Ok Thanks. I'll call them when I've had my 1st payment then and tell them what that is..is that right?

I'd recommend calling them now, so they can tell you exactly what they need, and when.

I called them when I made my UC claim to let them know, and they said they would calculate when my first payment has been made on first assessment period....I wasn't aware they would be suspending it, as I didn't think uc had anything to do with my council tax, but I told the person I still would not be working and would still be getting full housing element as uc have already told me that, and they said they don't think anything will change with the council tax, but I will wait for fist payment ,or for a few days before I get paid as my journal will tell me what payment I will get at that point approximately so I will call them and tell them and then ask them if there is any change !! ...I'll be so glad when it's all sorted..its megga stressful. 🤯😧

Housing benefit will stop completely after 2 weeks. Council Tax reduction will need to be recalculated based on your UC award once you have your first statement. It's normal for this to happen. Yes, they usually ask to see proof of your first statement.

HOw would I send them proof over the phone...I guess I could forward a screen shot of my payment to them...I'm sure they'll sort it... thebuc have already said I will have No work requirements.... but just wondering will I get my LCWRA in my first payment 🤔 as I have transitional protection...I shouldn't get any less than I was getting on my old legacy benifits should I ? 🙂
