My Son has cerebral palsy and looking for support groups!
HI all
My Son has cerebral palsy he is only 16 months old..however I want to support him as much as possible and would love to get help from others in a similar situation or help other families.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, or shall I create my own!!
Thanks
Dale

Hi Dale
Lovely to hear from you. Scope have the CP Network where families can access support and advice. We also have the wonderful @Richard_Scope who is the CP specialist.
There is a great group on Facebook called Cerebral Palsy UK where families come together to share stories and get support. Where in the UK are you based? I'm wondering if there is a local group or organisation who you can contact.
Please continue to reach out on the online community. We're always happy to answer any questions. Getting the support early and being your son's advocate is wonderful to see.
Take care
Sara

Hi @Dalep123
Welcome to the community.
Alongside my colleague's suggestion, I would also point you in the direction of Action CP and Scope's Parents of Children with CP Facebook group.

Hi @Dalep123
I have found these groups for you. Your son might be a little young for some of them:
Support groups for parents of disabled children | Oxfordshire County Council
The Chiltern Centre - The Chiltern Centre
Thomley is a magical charity in Buckinghamshire for disabled people

Hi @Dalep123
I've had a look online for some community support. I've come across Small steps who provide specialist support for children with neurological disabilities.
Take your time with the research. The information is available for you to access whenever you can.
