Review on Trustpilot. New site

I'm saddened that some haven't found this community entirely helpful, but I think some of the Trustpilot reviews are highlighting a problem.
The person who's 'A Horse With No Name' (nor a number)'s review has had me thinking since I read it….any community is after all the sum of those people on the community + our moderators.
I find the (absolutely) vast majority of members here completely honest, & we all seem to feel that this matters. Whilst the Scope moderators feel that everyone should be given a 2nd chance, a viewpoint which I'd normally endorse, tho they can see who has returned, & give them that opportunity, those that 'mislead' can, & do/have cause(d) problems.
Misleading can cause members distress when they realise it for what it is. I apologise by saying, not about any recent, nor as far as I'm aware an active member, but that the first instance of this previously caused me personal distress, but some other members had in the meanwhile been taken in & were sympathetic to this person. 'Misleading' is therefore something I worry about. I'm unable to see how the majority of the time this can be seen as something that is positive in a community.
A recent review on Trustpilot (their review was deleted, but now another has popped up with different words) again makes me think. If this was an honest review then I'd say, yes, the Scope team (& us all) can learn from it. We should be compassionate & supportive, but if someone leaves for whatever reason, & then comes back, how do you support such a person if you don't know who they are?
There are so many ways that you can realise who a person is that's been on the forum before; what they say about themselves, the words they use, their style of writing, spelling, etc., even if they try to disguise any of these, they often give themselves away.
I'll try to put aside that, even if they've previously caused distress, we can try & be open to them, so long as they're honest. That may be difficult, but what seems to matter to us all is honesty.

I believe many of those ratings are likely the same people using multiple email addresses trying to drag the rating down and poison any potential newcomers from giving the forum a chance.

Hi everyone I went back on to TP last night to find once again someone whom the majority off us know has put on another review under a different name after deleting their first review.
They are quick to call members of our community bully’s, what they don’t say is they personally got more support and advice on a daily basis from everyone.
When they saw an amazing friendly supportive person come back on and post after not posting for a little while, and they saw how happy people were to see them back they turned on this person for NO reason other than nastiness.
They spread horrible lies over multiple threads and caused so much upset they even turned on people they called (friends) that they saw supported the member. There was so much upset in the community during this, they were then caught out with their lies and they made a thread APOLOGISING and ADMITTING that they had lied and made everything up 🤦♀️ I for one couldn’t go on supporting this person as they had turned on me and all because I didn’t agree with what they had done.
They went on to leave only to pop up on TP with their reviews but not a mention why they left it’s all about attacking members and admin. They blamed coming off medication but this reduction in meds went on very slowly over months and they were given a massive amount of support.
I just feel sad they feel the need to blast this forum and it’s staff and members all I can say is they have to much time on their hands.
If things were as bad as they said they were on here why did they stay so long.I have chosen to put this on here instead of putting another review on Trust pilot as I can’t be bothered with any back and forth.
Sorry I’ve went on a bit but after reading the lies on that review under a false name yet again I felt I had to say something.
I have met some great and interesting people in the 4 years I’ve been here and I’ve also made some really great friends.
I hope yous all have a great day ❤️7 -
Well said @Lou67
I’ve only been on the Scope forums for 4 years but in the whole time I’ve been here I have seen nothing but kindness, respect and caring people, It’s absolutely terrible that this person wrote such horrible reviews and is clearly using alt emails to drag the rating down more so when they had nothing but kindness and support, it feels like a slap in the face to all the wonderful members of this community but some people are just nasty and best forgotten about.
We should focus on the good that this forum achieves, every single day someone is helped and supported and that is no small feat in my opinion

@JessieJ
Hi I hope your keeping well, thanks so much I really appreciate that as it was a horrible time on the forum and all because someone felt they needed more attention.I get they were troubled with MH issues like a lot off us here but we know the difference from right and wrong.
❤️

Hi I hope your doing good, I’ve been here about the same time as yourself and also found the forum a great place with great people.
Thank you that means a lot I was actually a bit worried about posting how I really felt for fear off saying the wrong thing but after receiving the posts from yourself and Jessie I’m so glad I did.
Your right this forum has been a tower off support and great advice from good people we can’t allow one or two people bring us down.
When it was all going on it affected me greatly how someone can turn on people for no reason but I genuinely hope they find some other place to build support.Take care ❤️

I've not been here long but I just looked at that new review and checked some of the others and it's very obvious who it is and that it's the same person leaving the reviews.
As my review there stated I find about 95% of people here absolutely lovely. The majority of the tiny handful I don't like so much seem to have disappeared anyway.

I thought the exact same thing, it’s practically copy n pasted with a few bits changed.
Unfortunately people like that can’t be reasoned.
But we do have lots of great people on the forum and all the good the community brings greatly outweighs the few bad eggs

Oh absolutely, and I think most people will realise without even having come here before that the reviews have more red flags than a golf course on mars.
2 -
Just realised "clique" has been misspelt on many reviews as "click" it's unlikely 2-3 different people would all do that or even use that word.

We all know who it is, it’s sad when someone has to make multiple accounts to leave nasty reviews but unfortunately some people are just like that.

My Grandma used to always say
“You can’t make friends with someone who constantly changes their mask”
Seems rather fitting for the situation.
My general motto is: If you can’t be yourself then what’s the point?
Of course that doesn’t mean been nasty to people etc, in a world we can choose to be anything, why choose anything but kindness.

I'm getting random private messages questioning me from members I've never spoken with, I won't be answering them, And I'm not stupid either.

I wasn't going to comment again on here but having read more of the reviews on trust pilot I decided I had no choice. There really is some very nasty people out there and some really have no heart.
There's someone on there that has given a very heartless review and it's clear the person they are talking about is me.
They've accused me of stalking all their threads and posts on here, accused me of have having their threads closed, accused me of being a DWP spokesperson and I was working to protect their image and the public purse. Also accused me of inviting other members to "pile" on them. Also accused me of having them being banned from here.
I remember this person very well because of all the trouble they caused me at the time and just how downright nasty they were towards me.
I did nothing but try to help them but everything I said or did they didn't believe me and told me I was wrong. I also remember a member of the scope team stepping in to advise them that the advice I was giving was in fact correct. The problem here was that this member had deferred their state pension but their partner was claiming Income Related ESA. When you defer a state pension it's treated as notional income and will still affect any means tested benefits you're claiming but of course I was a liar and this wasn't true, according to them.
I also see that a current member of the forum has found the comment useful.
It's so upsetting when someone writes such nasty things about you when all I've done over a period of 7 years is put my heart and soul into helping and advising thousands of people. I've never worked for DWP or even considered "protecting the public person" in fact I've always done the opposite and help many thousands of people claim the benefits they are rightfully entitled to.
Some people seem to forget that it's real people that are on here with real feelings. We maybe sat behind a screen but we are definitely real people. I just don't understand why some people can be so downright mean and nasty.
I feel like I've been stabbed in my heart. I've never asked or even wanted any special awards, or any special treatment here and have always been my true self. What I do expect is for people to treat me with respect. I'm never nasty to anyone and have never disrespected anyone in all the time I've been here.
I think I deserve better than to be treated like scum. I'm very upset by this whole thing. 😫

@Nightcity you can report them to admin

You helped me with my first ever post back in July and halted what until I found the forum was weeks of anxiety.
Yes you deserve better.

Thanks. It wss nothing offensive just strange and clearly untrue. Not to mention random and opaque in motivation

All fine, thanks, Lou, hope at your end too.
I went AWOL for a while, so missed the goings on. It's hard to comprehend how they could turn on those supporting them. Hopefully, when searches are made, it's the forum that comes up, then people can see for themselves the time taken with advice & support. Thankfully, there are very few unpleasant folk pop up, the decent far outweigh them, they are the past now, onwards we go.

You have always been very kind and helpful to me, If I recall you were one of the first to welcome me when I first joined
So I have nothing but good things to say about you, please don’t let the nasty people get to you, you are a kind and generous person and that’s my honest opinion
