I’m going to submit my claim for UC next week, I don’t want to wait any longer

I’ve also contacted the UC general helpline 📞📱☎️ twice today! 😂🤣
I was wanting to know if my Alternative Payment Arrangement request has been approved, that two payments a month 🗓️ have been set up for my claim. The first time that I rung up 📲, I absolutely got the impression that twice monthly payments have been set up for me. The female that I spoke to in the first call said the request was “complete” but what she really was supposed to explain to me is this, it’s still waiting for approval by a Case Manager. When she was saying that it was “complete”, it was making me think that I was set up in respect of two payment dates a month 📅.

After that phone call 📞, I did think it would be best to do another call to UC to ask for further clarity. And yes, the APA request hasn’t been looked into yet by a Case Manager and approved. That’s what I was told by a bloke in the second call. Because my claim is a phone claim 📞, I’ll get a text 💬 message when that APA request has been dealt with, asking to again make contact with them.

I haven’t had a text message 💬 yet so it obviously is true that a Case Manager hasn’t yet got at my request to be paid twice a month 📆 and not just monthly.

Even I knew for UC claims made by telephone 😂😂😂 that you get a text 💬💬 message when something of importance happens, asking the claimant to make contact. I just forgot that at the time 😂 when I asked in the first phone call ☎️ to the UC helpline if my APA request has been looked at yet.

The female agent that spoke to me the first time didn’t even say that I’d get a text message 💬 when a Case Manager has got to my APA request. But, the male in the second call told me that I will get an SMS to my mobile number when there’s an update on my Alternative Payment Arrangement request.
Call handlers don’t always give the full clarity, they don’t always properly explain things but it is what it is.0 -
The Work Coach/female from the Job Centre that I spoke to last Thursday (13th Feb 🗓️) for my biographical 🪪 phone appointment (ID check), she even told me that I’ll get my notified by text message 💬 when there’s an update on the request to have two payments per month.
She submitted the request for twice monthly payments on my behalf last Thursday.
I just forgot 😂😂😂😂 that fact when I first contacted UC today ☎️ but it was still in my mind somewhere 🧠🧠😂😂.

I’m very happy 😊😁😀 to notify that my Alternative Payment Arrangement (APA) request for more frequent payment payments than monthly was approved. That was after the two phone calls 📞 I did to UC on Monday.

It was approved by a Case Mangager on Monday around the 3pm mark 🕒 🕰️⏰, I was told this by a call handler from the UC helpline yesterday 📞☎️ (Tuesday). Weirdly, I didn’t get a text message 💬 any time after 3pm on Monday after the request was approved and I didn’t get an SMS to my phone at any time yesterday either 🤔.

I thought I’d have received a text, telling me to call the UC helpline 📞 to find out the info ℹ️. You’re supposed to get texts 💬 to your phone number when something happens on phone claims.

I don’t know why I’ve not had an SMS 💬 but oh well 🤔😂. It’s not important as the news of twice monthly payments being granted 💃🕺.

I didn’t just make a single call to the UC helpline 📱 yesterday (Tuesday) 😹, I did call them a second time to ask for the update on my APA request to be read out to me a second time. I don’t always just accept a single confirmation 😂. I just like to be a thorough, thorough person 🤣.

Okay, it’s not like the old every fortnight frequency that I’ve always had on Income Related Employment & Support Allowance. There is a difference between that and the twice monthly frequency on Universal Credit but I accept that difference 👍.
My two payment dates per month will be the 12th and 26th but that will vary from month to month. It’s dependant on the number of days in a month, weekends, any bank holidays. I accept this 👍.0 -
Two payments per month is still more frequent than just the single payment date per month. 👍🗓️📆📅✅✔️☑️

My first payment is exactly 3 weeks away, on Wednesday 12 March, and my first statement is produced is exactly a fortnight from now, on Wednesday 5 March.

Oh, one of these letters has just arrived in the post ✉️ to do with Employment and Support Allowance being uprated in April.

It’s dated 12 February, exactly a week ago. I know benefits are uprated each year in April but why have I received one of these letters?
ESA is meant to be irrelevant to me now as I made my claim for Universal Credit on 6th February, 6 days before this letter was even produced. My assessment periods: 6th to 5th each month.

I’ve already received my ‘run on payment’ from ESA this week.
I’ve made two phone calls 📞☎️📱📲 to ESA in the last week (Friday and Monday) and I’ve been told both times that my claim is “closed down”.
I’m sure that I was told by the call handler from ESA on Monday that I’ll even get a letter to do with my claim being stopped.

I would appreciate getting an opinion on this. I’ve just thought of this as a reason, maybe the letter just crossed in the post. 📮📬
Does anyone agree with me on this?0 -
Even though the date on the letter is 12th February, that doesn't mean it was planned that day. I imagine an organisation as big as the DWP sends over printing in advance, especially for something like a standard benefits uprating letter.
I know when I remove myself from commercial mailing lists, I'm told I might still get something for up to 6 weeks due to their printing schedule.
You have been told by two different people who checked the live computer system (something more up to date than the printers) that your ESA claim is now closed.
