I’m going to submit my claim for UC next week, I don’t want to wait any longer

I hope I won’t have to make a third call to ESA to get even more reassurances that my claim is no longer active, just because of this letter that’s come today. 😂😂
Now I’ve had my last payment from them, I’m meant to be getting no more payments 😂. I shouldn’t be getting a further payment from them the week after next (the first week of March). How can I possibly get a further payment of Income Related ESA when I’ve already been told by their agents that the claim is showing as closed down?! 😂

Thanks for that @Kimmy87 - your reassurances are appreciated 👍😀😃.
I’m sure you’re aware that I’ve had my APA request granted ✅🕺.

Payment dates under my Alternative Payment Arrangement (I’ll write a few months):
12th March, 26th March (14 day gap in March)
⬇️ 16 day gap to first April payment
11th April, 25th April (14 day gap in April)
⬇️ 17 day gap to first May payment
12th May, 23rd May early payment due to bank holiday (11 day gap in May)
⬇️ 20 day gap to first June payment
12th June, 26th June (14 day gap in June)
⬇️ 15 day gap to first July payment
11th July, 25th July (14 day gap in July)

I know I didn’t have to share all that 🖊️✒️✍️ but I’m just a detailed/ thorough 😂person.

You can tell it doesn’t work like the payment frequency on ESA.
The gaps between payments can vary when you factor in the number of days in each month, any bank holidays, the weekends. I accept the gaps, I’m fine with that.
Twice monthly still beats monthly because it’s, well, more frequent 😂👍. It’s an extra payment date per month that’ll give me piece of mind.

@ChrisSCOPEhtfc94 I’m sure that’s a relief to you about the 2 monthly payments. I am glad for you

Yes it is @cookie80. 👍😃

There was very little reason for them to refuse the request. I met the criteria. @cookie80

When will I notice the difference from the increase ⬆️📈 in benefit rates, if somebody could answer this query? I’ll notice the difference not in April but in May by the sounds of it because of UC being paid monthly in arrears.

Yes I will be getting two payments a month and not the one (due to my APA) but because of Universal Credit’s design it does sound like I’ll notice the uprate in May instead.
My assessment periods - 6th to 5th. 📆🗓️📅
My claim is made up of -
The Standard Allowance for being single and over 25 years of age (I’m 30 years old).
The LCRWA element.

I'm glad to hear it, Chris.

What are you like? They will have to take on extra staff to cope with all your calls! Lol.
2 -
Thanks for the kind words there @Ranald 👍😀.
The criteria is here. The highlighted text, that’s why I’d have met the criteria with such ease.1 -
That’s their job anyway @Ranald, to answer calls 😉, especially from telephone claimaints 😉📞☎️.
1 -
A telephone 📱📲 claimant can only get the answers they need by calling up the helpline @Ranald.
I don’t have an online account 😉.

Are you able to answer this query @Ranald or someone? 🤔🤨🗯️💭
The rates for benefits are to increase 📈 in April but I am pretty sure that I won’t notice the increase🔺until May. 💶🪙💴💵
That’d be because of Universal Credit’s design.
I’d appreciate some input from someone 🗣️ even if I am pretty sure on the answer.0 -
I bet Kimmy or Poppy will know. I have no idea about benefit increase dates, Chris.
1 -
Okay @Ranald 👍, that’s no problem 👍.
@Kimmy87 or @poppy123456, do you know the answer to my query? It’s further up this page 📃📄.
I’m pretty sure that I won’t see the increase until May due to how Universal Credit is designed but I’d still like some input. 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️0 -
The increase applies to the first full assessment period after on April 5th.
My AP is 26th to 25th. My payment date is the 2nd.
March 26th to April isn't a full AP, so no increase for May 2nd payment.
26th April to 25th May is, so I see the increase in my payment June 2nd.
I still get 12 payments at the higher rate, I just have to wait longer for it to start.
2 -
I guess my May payment dates, 12th May & 23rd May, will reflect the increase then @Kimmy87? ⬆️🔺📈
My APs/assessment periods are 6th - 5th. 📅📆🗓️
My second May payment will be paid 3 days early on 23rd May due to a bank holiday on the 26th.0
