LCWRA PAYMENT

Hiya , I applied for limited capacity for work for my son as he is 20 and has Cerebral palsy and autism , I am his carer ( ( he’s also in college ) I had a message on my journal on the 27th January saying he’s been awarded it and I don’t need to send in any more fit notes . Now I thought he’d receive it on his February payment but I’ve just checked his journal and it’s his normal payment . I’ve just rang them and they said he was awarded it from the 5th of November which means he won’t get it until after the 3rd month ( feb ) which means he won’t receive it until his March payment . Is this right ? I put his 1st note in on the 15th October 2024 and that note was dated 26/09/24 to 26/12/24 and his 2nd note was dated 26/12/264 to 26/06/2025 . Also is he due any back pay ? ( I'm clueless ) Any advice please ? Tia xxxx

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods starting from when you provide your first fit note. It's then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month. The extra money isn't paid at all during that time.
Oct/Nov.. doesn't count because you didn't provide the fit note until 15th October. Backdated fit notes are not accepted when calculating when the extra money is paid from.
Hi waiting period will be as follows.. Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan, Jan/Feb… LCWRA starts from assessment period 5th Feb to 4th March and first payment will be 11th March. No LCWRA element is owed.
