Hi everyone.

My 13 year old son has recently been diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. It mainly affects his speech, balance, fine motor skills and coordination. Sadly he gets mercilessly bullied. All through his primary school years and now into high school, as well as out of school activities such as scouts. This has obviously affected his confidence and self esteem no end. Anyway, what I'm here to ask is if there are any groups where he could meet, chat and possibly socialise with other mild CP children. Think it would make a difference to him.

Thank you.… X

Hi @Tootsie_cub Welcome to the Community. I have tagged @Lucy_Scope and @Richard_Scope they both have great understanding of Cerebral Palsy. I hope they are able to help you.

    Take care.

    Hi @Tootsie_cub

It is good to meet you, and I am sorry to hear that your son and your family have had to deal with such an awful situation.

We have some information on Bullying that you might find useful. I can also recommend CP Teens. It is a fantastic organisation for young people living with CP.

It is a tough situation for all of you. I went through something similar at the start of secondary school. Communication and sticking together are so important. Please let me know if I can be of any more help.

Hi @Tootsie_cub and a warm welcome to the community!

It sounds like you and your son are going through some very hard times. I hope you are both okay. It is so good he has you in his corner reaching out for support and finding ways to help

Richard has given some great advice and organisations above and it may also be worth exploring your local offer as this should have any clubs/activities for disabled children in your local area that your son may be interested in

If you have any further questions or would like further support please reach out😀
