I feel the same Catherine. I can't stop shaking and it feels like I have a massive heavy rock in my chest and can't think straight. We just have to hope there's a massive backlash so they are forced to rethink. Even having trouble typing. Please take care xx

can someone from scope please explain this further please . I just read on benefits and work that they’re putting are putting the green paper to the vote so once it passes it is an act of parliament meaning courts cannot intervene. Surely this can’t be correct as the ECHR seems to interfere in most of acts of discrimination.

Like you,I am really struggling today and have gone right back to square one after working so hard to get myself together. The only way to do this is with stability and as much peace as possible. At the same time, today is the last session with my trauma therapist as it's from a charity and they have lost their funding. It feels like I am right on a knife's edge and I can't stop shaking. My heart goes out to you and everyone else suffering so greatly because of this. My mind is shutting down, but please take care x

Hi @secretsquirrel1 we're in a period of consultation until 30th June 2025 allowing us an opportunity to push back on the initial release. I've added a link which might be helpful explaining the process - Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper - GOV.UK

I believe we're due some more news today so we'll try to share as swiftly as we can.

I’m sure the government have no intention of listening to us that’s why the consultation isn’t a full one . Our only hope is/was legal action. Is there nothing in law that protects us ?

Trumpet is withdrawing his country's interests in Europe, and there is a good argument for increasing 'defence' spending.

@secretsquirrel1 Equality Act, Human Rights Treaty. The United Nations also frequently chime in with these changes

Feeling decidedly queezy. Although quite naturally our views differ we much remain united here, in completing the consultation, and in other activities. Reading "The I", this comment troubled me because it enables the Government to divide, rule, and rob:

"Gillian Oliver, 47, who has severe arthritis and mental health issues, receives PIP and universal credit. She told The i Paper she relies on these benefits to survive.

She said that if any benefits are cut or taken away from people in genuine need like her, it will “destroy them” as she relies on this money to survive.

“Any cuts to benefits announced in the Spring Statement will have a terrible impact and be brutal and absolutely destroy people like me,” she said.

There are a lot of people on benefits who shouldn’t be as they are capable of working, so medical professionals should definitely be tougher on them.

“But genuine people like me are going to suffer. We’re not going to be able to manage and food banks will be overwhelmed and there won’t be enough to go round.”

oh thank you 🙏 . Does this mean if/ when the law passes In parliament if it’s found to contravene the equality laws we can still take this to court or ECHR ?
