Green Paper Discussion (from 24th March, 2025)

I had a sleepless night last night and then today with announcements from Reeves.
I just can't see how they can force people who can't work to find work, expect meltdowns in Job Centres, Work Coaches being placed in the position to console people, many will resign due to the hostile and emotional environment, security working overtime...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work this out.
Anyway good night and thank you all for helping me, just words can make a big difference X

This is very good advice, the worst thing is not engaging as it then plays in the DWP's hands.

Hi hope you don't mind me saying but it isn't that straight foward unfortunately.getting a sick note from doctor doesn't stop regular jobcentre appointments I know this from past experience whilst waiting for a wca assesment. My partner was in intense work search whilst providing sick notes for months he was suicidal. Shocking I know absolutely ridiculous to expect someone suicidal to work search and drag them into appointments. I put a complained in his journal and demanded reasonable adjustments to be put in place. After this he had wellbeing calls regular or they would sanction.Reasonable adjustments they could still expect some work search or put the claimant in the work preparation group or even wellbeing calls until assessed hope this helps 😊

YYes I totally agree it will only make everyone health worse especially mental health dragging them into jobcentre

And thats the salient point! "Commitments" …the contention that one who is and was deemed unable being asked to commit to an ability that isnt obtainable.

No, you simply misunderstood 👍

I agree, worth pointing it out to the unions.
Especially any labour donor unions.
Do you know of any?

It’s disgusting. It is already hard enough to claim for PIP, it’s not given easily or with the stroke of a pen. Making it harder is going to affect so many people who really need the extra support. They are targeting the most vulnerable & disabled individuals in the country. It’s a sad state of affairs.

Thanks for sharing this, I hadn't seen it. I'm wondering why none of the journalists raise the issue of 1. The PIP change to eligibility/points increase to 4 and 2. More importantly, that they do not then connect it to the loss of LWCA leaving claimants potentially destitute. I can feel an email coming on to enlighten them 🙄🤨

Tbh Catherine I don't think they have to put it to a vote.

Maybe its just me but I'm still not clear what is going to happen regarding contribution based
esa.
I suppose more information will emerge in the coming days via the media.

from a brief glance and assumption, looks like those on ESA CB, won’t suffer any loss of income during this parliament

Hi all,
A quick question.
I currently receive the LCWRA payment, for a few health reasons, but mainly as I hit one of the main criteria that seems to automatically qualify you for the payment, that being I can't swallow at all, all my nutrition is via Rig tube and I use a pump for the main part of my feed, this is connected 11 hours straight.
If the proposed changes come in, will I lose the LCWRA payment as I might not get 4 points on any one descriptor, even though it's one of the few health issues that's on the DWP list for automatic qualification?
Thanks,
Warren

im not sure, but that’s a valid point that I haven’t seen discussed yet.

Unfortunately at a rate of 1000 pip awards a day it has made this vital benefit unsustainable.
I fear that a lot of genuine people are going to lose out!
