Help Shape New Technology for Children with Cerebral Palsy 🌟
We are looking for children with Cerebral Palsy, and their parents, to take part in a PhD research project. Your experiences will help us design better technology to support children with CP.
What You Will Do
You and your child will join creative online sessions. These sessions are relaxed and activity‑based. You will be asked to share your experiences and ideas.
Who Can Take Part
- Children aged 7 to 16
- Diagnosed with cerebral palsy
- Able to read and speak English
- Able to use a computer with internet access
Who Cannot Take Part
- Children younger than 7 or older than 16
- Children who are not fluent in English
- Children who cannot take part in simple activities because of significant cognitive impairments
Payment
- Children who complete all five sessions will receive £100.

Hmm…this will then preclude all but those with the mildest CP since very many young people with CP have some level of speech impairment and similarly many, unfortunately, are not literate certainly by the age of 7, if they have a significant impairment (and "normal" cognition) but use AAC or similar. Also many will have some level of fine motor control issues which really affect computer access unless suitable access methods/AT have been provided…which in so many cases they are not. So being unable to take part in "simple activities" may well be nothing to do with cognitive impairment, but for physical reasons and lack of proper educational support, reasons.
