Has the thread somehow broken - how has @Roddy 's comment become detached from the rest?1

That's fab @April2018mom. How long did that take you to do? Do you make anything else?0

A set of 3 carved of my latest glass panels that I'm doing, in readiness to adapt into lamps. They're in the style of Rene Lalique. His 1930s originals are on The Orient Express.

Wow Roddy these are fabulous. No idea how glass is moulded and sculpted. How big are the panels?2

Each design is only 11" x 4" carved from the back on panels of 1/2" thick glass which are 14 1/2" x 7" … I also produce larger designs as items of interior display which once I've made the lamp bases for, are lit from beneath to illuminate the glass and to enhance the carvings. (see the photo below) I've not long completed this following lamp for three 1930s French opalescent glass fish. I crafted the water-weeds from wood, and the aquatic 'scene' from buttons & stylized shells etc., all of which I finished with metallic paints to provide a bronze-like finnish, and a faux marble base (where the electrical fittings are hidden) 2nd photo

You're incredibly talented @Roddy. These are spectacular. Do you sell these? I imagine they'd be really popular.0

I 'try' to sell them, yes @Adrian_Scope but they are not low-cost items, especially when they contain rare & desirable items of glass (such as the fish which were produced by Lacroix) Each separate fish alone has a value of £180 for example and having 3 is very rare indeed. I've not marketed the lamp yet... My panels start at say £350 once adapted to lamps and rise to above £950... A lot of work is involved to produce these items, but I get a lot of enjoyment during each stage of the process. I used to be a glass-blower as to why I admire glass as a working medium...2

I am just blown away by them, particularly the fish lamp. You are a very talented individual.. you really should try and market them.1

The carved glass panels are a relatively new project of mine which I only began about six months ago. The lamp bases take me the longest time to make as I know very little about electrics and/or working with other materials save for glass... Ideally I'd like the bases to be chrome metal or Aluminium but I cannot find a supplier/maker and I'm not able to make them myself... My intention is to wait until I have made 5 or more completed lamps/panels before 'launching' them on eBay perhaps in readiness for Christmas?
Here are two more of my latest design which I'm working on. Making two or more at the same time is less work when it comes to the carving. The 3" space below the design will be inside the lamp base, and its bottom cut edge will be immediately below the light-bulb, so that once lit the glass becomes a large fibre-optic to illuminate the carvings...
