PART THREE.......now for portability the Maks give the much better result sometimes called a grab and go scope....as you just grab it and go....set up usually about 10 mins. They are my personal all round starter scope.....Mounts come in all shapes and sizes and prices......mine alone cost over £1000 as its motorised on two axis with wifi ports for remote opperation and computer control......btw my scope cost over £500 so theres a cost for you to think about.

PART FOUR...Ok  so for me the scope i would go for is the Mak 127 on motorised Alt Az mount....with a hand pad for guidence......around £400 ....dear yes but remember these are excellent first buy scopes...you could buy cheaoer scopes but they usually have defects and poor resolution and poor design mounts...enough to put you off more or less straight away.  With  Mak 127 on a motirised hand held touch pad you will see objects such as what ive posted..........sorry for the long winded posts but just be carefull what you buy.......cheap means poor ....dear means good in optical terms.

Buy from a scope dealer such as skys n scopes  or first light optics never from the likes of currys .

just to end off my scope talk ....here is a Mak 127mm Alt Az with hand held controller.....the diameter is 5 inches and the length is about 2 foot.......150mm x  700mm...........nb.....photo from ebay.......they are compact because the light beam goes down the tube, then its reflected back up to a secondary mirror on the front lens, which reflects it back down again then through a hole in the main mirror then to the eyepiece.   So that 700mm is really 1400mm but within s 700mm scope body.
