That's so cute @WelshBlue! You'd pay big money for that in a gift shop by the seaside!

I agree! It looks like it was super fun to make as well. Thanks for sharing where you got bits from ☺️

@Rosie_Scope and @Holly_Scope thanks. It was fun, if stressful at times … when you have a leak and the resin starts to pour out… not good for a faffer like me 😁

Now it's cured properly it's all been worth it and another experiment to tick off the list.

If I don't replace my wife's waxing sticks (used to mix and twiddle) before she notices they're gone … stress will have a capital S 😉

I must admit I wish I'd started this years ago … when I was more able, less decrepit and had access to free timber. Making something from a tree I'd cut down, milled and dried would have been something to be proud off

You better get those replaced ASAP then @WelshBlue or we might not see you online anymore 😅😂

Looks like there's lot of variety with it too which would keep me interested. Will you do more, do you think? Or have you already got your eyes on your next experiment?

Stunning results, @WelshBlue! I'm a big fan of resin videos on YouTube. Now I actually know a resin artist. Wow! What an honour 🙏🏼😊

I especially like how you managed the swells and foamy bits of the water @WelshBlue But of course with all of what you're showing making me suspect next time you can literally build from scratch, doing your own boats and the likes.

And it makes me wonder why a toilet often has a nautical theme 🤔 But hey, whatever floats your boat, right 🤭

I am spinning today which very happily floats my proverbial boat. What about you @StarryEyed

Hi Sweetie Pie 🤗 I'm knee-deep in house chores alternating with listening to my audiobook. Honestly I'm having a great time too! Want to post your spinning project?

Hi Honey, good luck with the chores!

This is my current project, mostly merino wool but I can't be exactly sure. Life being difficult from time to time… last week I decided to spend my birthday money on some new roving. I ordered two: Rambouillet and something with soy silk, both I haven't worked with before.

Oh wow that's lovely!!! What a delightful mix of colours. Did you know merino wool originated in Spain? I discovered it a few years ago as a wool that I'm not allergic to. It's my fave in winter now for socks, coats and sweaters.

@Holly_Scope @StarryEyed @SmellyBin … thanks so much for the kind words about my efforts, apologies for the very late reply. I've realised doing stuff like this isn't the cost of materials … it's the cost of what it takes out of my alphabet soup of a body now. I've been suitably told off by my wife, GP and Consultants that the letters after my name aren't qualifications … they're medical conditions 😐️ For once I'm going to listen … really don't fancy a flare up and relapses together again

@SmellyBin … I bet weaving is very therapeutic. Did you dye the merino wool ? Love those colours

You've created some amazing things @WelshBlue so I'm not surprised it's taken a toll on your body! Good to hear that you're going to rest. You don't want another telling off 😂

@WelshBlue I am sorry about your difficulties and presumably disappointments. Yeah, acceptance is a harsh concept, right?

The spinning is indeed very soothing, something about feeling the wool and working with your hands… even ending up with something useful… I really like it. So if you are looking to try something new that is not very demanding, let me know. Your brain is probably up for something new, don't think you're too ill or too old to learn something new. If you want to try using a spindle and some cheap roving (wool) you can find cheaply online, I can show you a spindle that didn't cost me a thing just to give it a try. But of course, everything creative is good for the brain and relaxation generally.

A belated thank-you for your belated b-day wishes 🤭 How are you today, dear? Anything creative going on?

Oh you're funny, @SmellyBin 🤣. After taking the bull by the horns with some wicked family members, I did a face-plant from exhaustion. But I've now brushed myself off and pulled myself together. In two weeks I'll learn if it's fixed. Lucky I'm half Viking, half Conquistadora and raised Canadian - a strong concoction 😁

    How are you doing??

Oh man, those things are so difficult and awful, toxic fam members to deal with. If there is one thing I would never ever have thought to be a part of my life as a chronic it was all that distrust and ignorance. Pffff. Of course with this kind of misery we're face-planted whenever it comes up.

You hang in there, dear @StarryEyed One day at the time, for all of us - as I am expecting it won't be just us having this unwanted lack of empathy…

I play a game where it’s colour by numbers but with crystals and on the daily puzzles, you can’t tell what you get until you fill it in and today I got this pretty rose. 🌹

That's so pretty @kikiba! The colour combinations are really lovely.
