Thank you so much for your support; it really means a lot! I can’t believe the reasons they gave for your refusal – it just shows how flawed this process can be. I’ll keep fighting, and I hope things turn around for you soon too. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Just seen your update @coffeetable, that's incredibly frustrating. I'm really sorry you're having to go through all this stress. It's good that you've felt able to complain about it, it doesn't sound like you've been treated fairly at all.
Hope things get sorted soon, I'll be keeping everything crossed for you!

Hi @coffeetable - I hope you're doing OK. Like Rosie, I too have just seen your update. I'm ever so sorry you are having difficulty with your assessment.
Now this is just from my personal experience, though I have seen a few other members post something similar. I initially had an assessment in 2017, which was a face to face one. Then I had whom I now realise must have been a Case Manager ring me up a few days later, asking just a few questions. I was then surprised when I received an appointment for another assessment & rang to query this. I was assured that this assessment would just be to answer a few questions. However the second assessor said she'd been asked to give a full assessment.
With hindsight, this was a good thing, as the second assessor was so much better than the first, so I took it as an opportunity to get things across hopefully better too.
I do not know for certain, but there were certainly difficulties with your first assessment being so long, &, in my case, I know the second assessor could not see anything about my first assessment, so, I hope you too take this as an opportunity to hopefully be listened to this time around even if it means you have to go through the whole thing again.
There should not be any inconsistencies if you are saying exactly how your disability affects you. Any fluctuation you have, if you have any, as to how your disability affects you will be taken into account, so please don't worry about that.
Far better to get things right now, so you can do this assessment again!

Update: Assessment Complete
My assessment is finally complete and took around 2 hours and 5 minutes. I was given a Saturday morning appointment and had requested a recorded session. However, it turned out to be a non-recorded session, as the assessor informed me that they didn’t have the option to record. I was told I could either proceed without recording or cancel and rebook for a recorded assessment.
I explained that customer service had booked this as a recorded session, but the assessor apologized, saying he couldn’t provide recording from his side. He mentioned I could record the session myself and use it as evidence if needed with the DWP. I decided to continue the session. The assessor was polite and did not ask any leading or twisting questions. I simply answered what was asked, covering topics like my driving license, hobbies, work, traveling, pets, walking inside the house, shopping, exercise, and daily activities. We went through each descriptor in detail.
This appointment was meant to continue from my previous one, which lasted over 3 hours. However, both Ingeus and the DWP stated that a second appointment could not be treated as a continuation, so I had to start over.
Thankfully, the assessment is now complete. Fingers crossed—now it’s just a waiting game for the results!

Thank you ever so much for letting us know how you got on @coffeetable - your experience was fortunately just like mine - another full assessment but with a far better assessor! It's great that you were given the opportunity to go through everything in detail.
A big 'well done' for getting through your assessment! Again, please kindly let us all know how you get on.

Final Update: PIP Awarded (Both Enhanced)
I would like to thank all the wonderful people listed below for taking time out of their busy and precious schedules to support and advise me from start to finish. Each person mentioned played a vital role in helping me achieve a fair and positive decision on my PIP.
My PIP journey began in mid-2021 when I was initially awarded 0 points. I proceeded to a Mandatory Reconsideration, which again resulted in 0 points. Then, I went to a tribunal, where I was awarded only 6 points for daily living and 4 points for mobility, which was not helpful. Finally, with a new application and more advice and support from the wonderful people mentioned below, I was awarded both enhanced rates.
