TechGuy81 said:Does anybody know if you receive a text if a consultation is NOT needed?No, not a specific text to say an assessment isn't needed. They do send texts once the report is return which will indicate an assessment wasn't needed. Though, most people have assessments so you should expect one of those, which are mostly by telephone.Even though you've received that text your wait could still be a considerable length of time.1

Thanks for confirming that @TechGuy81 fingers crossed you'll hear more soon, remember the community is here for support in the meantime1

Thanks all, I'm rather hoping that as I've attended a face-to-face assessment previously (albeit way back in 2016), I might not need one again. Although I'm well aware this is probably just wishful thinking. I'd imagine it's in Independent Assessment Services best interests to conduct one as they probably bill DWP for the time.
Be interesting to see how they assess me again as I am profoundly deaf and unable to use the telephone.0 -

Then it would be face to face if an assessment is needed.

I still haven't heard anything since the text message on 1st March. Is this normal?0

Is this a review or a new claim? If it's a review when did you return the forms? There's huge back logs and you could be waiting as long as a year before any decision is made.

Hi Poppy, this is a review. I returned the forms early in February. Coincidentally, I've just received a text from DWP this morning saying: "About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report. We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us..." I haven't had an assessment or an invite to one, so I guess they felt it wasn't needed?1

You've had a paper based assessment, rare but possible. Your process has been extremely quick so far, which is a good thing. Decisions can take up to 12 weeks now the report is returned.

@Presario05
Hi I’m so sorry hadn’t seen this and just came across it. I was awarded the same award I had previously, which was Standard DL and Enhanced mobility until 2027. I’m delighted with the outcome.1 -

Glad you kept your same award, it’s a big relief, now you can relax for a while.

I'm a little bit confused on the timing I should receive a decision. The text message I received 11th May stated that, "We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us."
Then I received the "We now have all the information we need" letter on 24th May but nothing since. Looking online and in these forums, people have stated it can take between 2-12 weeks from receiving the letter.
Confused as I thought the text stated 6 weeks? Is it just outdated info, or are they classing the letter as "hearing from us"?0 -

Timescales are nothing more than a guide. Usually we advise up to 12 weeks once the assessment report was returned to DWP. Some have a decision in a couple of weeks, some a few weeks, some several and other a few months.

Took 8 wks before I got the decision after receiving message "we have all the information we require". Hard but just waiting game.

Morning all. For anybody following, I received a text message this morning saying, "Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks." Also goes on to say not to contact them before receiving the letter as they will not be able to discuss the decision. Going to be a looong two weeks methinks0
