Text message pip review
Pip review form was posted back to the DWP in July this year, a whole 11 months before award ends.
Today I received this message and I'm hoping it won't be long now.
Hello from Independent Assessment Services. We conduct Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is for information purposes only, to let you know that we are managing your PIP assessment. We will look at the available evidence and will contact you with an appointment if we need to have a consultation with you. You can find information about the service we provide at https://mypipassessment.co.uk. You do not need to contact us.
Is my review finally getting looked at now or is it still on file.
Hopefully I will hear soon fingers crossed.
Any feedback will be truly appreciated.

I'm afraid it's another waiting game, not what you wanted to hear i know. If an assessment is needed then you'll be contacted. You can also ring them to ask if an assessment is needed and do they have any cancellations. If they do they may offer you one. Once the assessment is done and the report is returned to DWP a decision can take up to about 12 weeks.

Thanks Poppy123456
Hopefully I will be updating the outcome whatever it is soon, I know my health has definitely got worse as I now have fibromyalgia just wish I had written no change as I'm petrified that they will take me off my award.
Thanks again Poppy123456 your a star.

You are welcome @Binky1234. It is the very least you deserve.
Hopefully, you will receive an update soon. It sounds really difficult that your health has got worse though and you now have fibromyalgia.
As someone else with fibromyalgia, I hear you and can only empathise with you. Hopefully, they won't take you off your award - especially as things have only got worse.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything else to support you. We are all here for you and listening to you1 -

I'm still waiting and have been told it could be another few months. I was told that I will definitely not here anything before Christmas that was confirmed by the PIP helpline.
I'm just hoping that it will be early next year and if I've not heard anything by March I will call them again.
Hope this helps you @THAAWT.
Like me more than likey not the news you wanted to hear but apparently they have a huge backlog and are prioritising new claims atm and I have no reason to disbelief that.
Try and not stress to much as I know I did that is why I have put a month on my review #March as doing this helps with MH and helps stop me overthinking my review, basically I've removed the temptation to phone, if that makes sence.
Let us know how your progress goes @THAAWT and good luck 🙂1 -
@Binky1234 thank you, that does help. It's just the not knowing how short or long the wait is going to be.
I can't see a date on your original post, when did you receive the text please?0 -

As Poppy123456 has confirmed 6th December @2pm. Hope this helps and yes the waiting is what everyone finds it hard, looking through previous posts some have been waiting over a year and I don't think award review gets backdated if awarded a higher rate, makes sence I suppose as it's the same way if your review goes to a lower rate you don't need to pay it back so I suppose that's fair. I think that's the case.

Do you mean waiting a year from receiving the text we both received from IAS ? or waiting a year in general because of the backlog?0 -

Blinky means some people are still waiting a year after returning their review forms.I know it's annoying waiting for the review decision but there's nothing more you can do but continue to wait. If an assessment is needed you will be contacted.3 -
I was not going to update on the forum, but then I felt I was being unfair as I did promise to keep everyone updated, plus I know I lookout for updated threads that could help me. (There goes that voice in my head treat others the way you would like to be treated) 🙂
Anyway now I have my head around this, I can confirm that I received a text message on the 22nd December.
"This is a message from Independent Assessment Services about your PIP claim. A telephone consultation has been booked for you on Sunday 22 January"
I have so far managed to put this out my mind, although I do think that is because of two reasons one being hubby is off work until the 10th of January and then and I honestly cannot emphasis enough how pleased I am that my assessment will be on a Sunday as hubby will be off work therefore this gives me grate comfort knowing I have him here and it saves Mr Binks taking time off work.
I did confine in someone on this forum and may I take the opportunity to say your my star in regards to your fantastic advice.
I honestly feel I have made an forum friend you have gave great advice and went out your way to comfort me when I got upset at a comment for that I'm truly grateful as I nearly left because of one silly comment and guess what that person is no longer a member so it really would have been my loss.
Anyway I'm rambling on, I hope this update helps people or at least give them an idea of the waiting times of PIP reviews.

If you can update afterwards as to what to expect, again it would be much appreciated.

Just want points of view and opinions.
Do you think it's a good idea to get assessment recorded?
Is it a good idea to get assessment report?
Never had any assessment recorded.
Got my last assessment report after my award and tbh it was a extremely fair and accurate account of my assessment. Infact the lady added to my assessment where I did not claim or left blank. I was very lucky with the lady who did my f2f home visit.
TYI for any feedback 🙂0
