I'm really sorry for my confusion but would appreciate some help with this one question.....I have just migrated over to UC as part of my esa.

So, I get contribbased esa and uc lcwra instead of income related esa top up.

What Will happen to me and many like me ?

Am /we going to lose my/our esa after a certain amount of time because I'm not able to work ?

This is the only thing that seems so vague.

    Hello everyone.

I get high rate on both elements of PIP after a serious stair accident and surgery left my lower leg in a mess and I have never recovered. I feel like many others the 4 point new rule will be hard on some. I know I felt I should have scored points extra in one but ended up with them in another and because of the stress it caused me I just accepted it and now that could be a issue . I am aging and my Husband works full time and cares for me with my Daughter who also works full time. I am not able to claim a penny as we are over the threshold for help which does make me feel a burden as have no income at all only my PIP. Will the mobility part be ok on PIP? I know I will have to try for the extra points but I am not hopeful. I do think it will affect a lot of us and it needs some looking at. I wish everyone well thank you :)

Hi mason 50 you reach the criteria for living allowance.she said you need a minimum of two 4s.your comment meets that criteria. As you have a 10 and 12.

I've read through the paper pretty and I can't see anything about them changing the PIP descriptors.

I think it was the conservatives who originally planned to changed the descriptors. So maybe Labour have decided not to change the descriptors? Im hoping thats the case because I would have thought something that important would have been mentioned in this green paper surely.

Hi Mason 50 you meet her criteria. As she said you need a minimum of two 4s or above to maintain your living allowance.

    Hi secretsquirrel1

I have posted info about ESA. They are saying new claimants only?? If I'm reading it right.

I noticed that too, can anyone clarify this ‘new claimants’ only thing

    This section should cover it

    53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.

    54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC.

I only claim CB ESA (Support Group/ LCWRA). I am not eligible for UC. Will this clobber me? I'm just not taking it all in.

Where did you get this from? That would be good if it were true (about the conditions being more reasonable.)

Another thing I liked was that they don't want people caught in an 'activity trap'.

Since the tribunal awarded me 12 points for mobility I have been worried about even trying to go for a walk. I got a new pair of elbow crutches because I can't manage with just the stick I used to use and I want to work at increasing how far I can get but don't want to bring the wrath of PIP down on myself. I couldn't face another reassessment. Currently I struggle to get the 10 m down my garden to let my rabbits out but I usually improve a bit in the summer and would like to get further without being so nervous of negative repercussions. I am never going to walk properly again but I don't want to be reluctant to be as active as possible.

I posted this previously Durus. I think it's going to be time limited but for new claimants only. When we're reassessed I think we'll probably move onto it. Thoughts??
