I know, I thought that, I am totally confused. I also want to know what they mean by severely long term disabled and if that would include us. Like you said it is not like we are going to improve, we are more likely to get worse.

Same here. I don't know anyone who scores 4 points in a single discriptor everyone usually gets 2 points and then it's added up at the end. This means that most people will lose daily living completely which is barbaric and must be challenged.

what about esa legacy as I’m still on that and am yet to receive a migration letter . Do you know if I’ll get protection ?

More info for ESA (CB)
53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income 54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory
ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC. during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.

5 -
OOh yes definitely they will change question that's connected to MH and mostly be physical health gets pip I got 13 points daily living they will change lots on form but see people not on the system workers of the world will see this as excellent they didn't define severe illness

So, it seems that most of the confusions are to do with
ESA
JSA
PIP POINTS
WHAT CONSTITUTES A LIFELONG CONDITION
Anything else?

My pip has 3 more years before the next reasesment. Will the proposed new pip points system apply immediately or when reasesment due?

It will be interesting to see how all this pans out.
As usual, they are portraying it as making the system better whilst ripping the carpet out from under people's feet.
I noticed she relied heavily on the assumption that 'many conditions improve'.
This leads me to wonder if/when might be reassessed, who will be making the decision? Will it be a consultant who is medically experienced? or will it be someone who checks things on Google! (believe me, I had a telephone consultant with a GP who didn't understand about my condition and said 'hang on, I'm just Googling that word')!!😣
Also, the Government has regularly spoken and promoted independent living. Speaking from my own position, if the new rules come into law, I will lose my daily living allowance of PIP. I score on 5 categories but only 2s and 3s.
So, I will have to cancel the daily help I get - I hope the government is going to fill that gap with all these new jobs they are going to push people into [cough] Disabled helping disabled.
Talk about being ostracized. 😥4 -
PIP - "the eligibility criteria will be tightened up from November 2026, potentially resulting in reduced payments for many"

I looked it up and physical disability is also pain and fatigue conditions protected by 2010 act as is MH which isn’t mild . I think it may be how bad your condition affects you as it is now. What we need to look out for in future which I don’t do is check the points being awarded and appeal if you think you should get the 4 points for a question. My experience is they give a lot of 2 points when you should get more but as long as you get the full points don’t appeal . Ppl will have to now so tribunal’s will be busy as there were when DLA first went to PIP

Does anyone know (or even assume) that the need to score 4 points in any one PIP descriptor will be with the current descriptors, or is there anything within the green paper that indicates they're changing the descriptors also going forward?
I only managed to score 8 points with PIP and never scored 4 in any one category. However i have significant other health conditions now that i was very likely to disclose in my imminent PIP review, which I'm certainly mentioning now!
Also, is 4 points the maximum you can get per descriptor?
I'll check the PIP guide later for this.
It's similar to LCWRA, where you have to score 15 points (i think) in any one descriptor to qualify.

I score 4 points in one Daily living question, so i am safe i think.

legacy esa not yet gone over to lcwra . Will I get the higher amount I would have or the new lower ?
1 -
Good luck Ray.
1 -
Is November 2026 when the 4 point thing kicks in, or do they plan to change the descriptors from November 2026 onwards?
2 -
Does the esa combine with jsa is that for IR esa and what is the time limit
